SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Yeah, because destruction of property is the same as murder.

You're pathetic. People who live in glass houses probably shouldn't throw stones.

This would have been much better if you said lawn mowers.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I never made a comment about wanting Frattin back early, although I was happy we got him back for a half a year. Seems to me that if this was a Nodak player you would be one of the first to say something smart -a $ $. I was just thinking that 2 months off for a felony charge may be a bit light (if he is convicted).

No, you made a comparison to MURDER. I mean, if you can't see how moronic that is, there's no help for you.

You'd also be the first person pitching a fit if anyone dared to insult your precious little darlings, so please, spare me.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

If Mosey quickly follows this up with another arrest, it would be comparable to Frattin. Right now it's only one arrest.

What's the deadline on the second arrest? This could be fun to watch. :)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

The difference between felony property damage and a misdemeanor is the cost of the damage.

I believe if it's over $1000 in MN then it's a felony.

Edit: If he had another conviction of the same offense previously then they can charge him with a felony if the damage was $500.

You would be correct $0-500 Misdemeanor $500-1,000 Gross Misdemeanor $1,000+ Feloney..... It must of been a riding law mower.... those things can be expensive ;-)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

October 20. Which is lucky for him because you know he'll be involved in some sort of Halloween hi-jinks, shenanigans, skulduggery and/or tomfoolery.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

It all depends what happened. Many times when booking someone it says stuff like felony criminal damage and it ends up he was drunk and broke a car window. I have no idea what happened but if that was the case he will get a slap on the hand and it will be no big deal.

I agree. It's probably pretty minor or it would have made a bigger news splash.

The statute under which he's been charged applies to cases where:

The damage to property caused a reasonably foreseeable risk of bodily harm; or
The property damaged belongs to a common carrier (i.e. bus) and the damage impairs the service to the public rendered by the carrier; or

The damage reduces the value of the property by more than $1000 as measured by the cost of repair and replacement; or

The damage reduces the value of the property by more than $500 and Moser has been convicted in the preceding 3 years under a similar offense.

http://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=609.595

Probably wasn't just a car window, since that wouldn't hit the $1000 mark (unless someone was in the car and the bodily harm statute applied.)

My hunch. Just a little more damage than a car window, but enough to trigger the $1000, or maybe he caused smaller damage to a bus, cab, or other common carrier (which can even include semis.)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

What goes around comes around. I remember when the UMD kid got arrested in Duluth this summer, a bunch of people were giving the Bulldogs grief. Now I guess it's our turn.

We really can't defend Mosey or an other player who gets caught doing stupid things. It's unfortunate to have him put a great program in negative spotlight. Hope the rest of team can use his mistakes as a learning experience and as an example of how not to be.

I can't wait until I have something else to watch besides Twins baseball! Season can't get here fast enough.

I don't think the two events are comparable breaking stuff vs. cage fighting a girl who doesn't know she's in a fight, the big difference being that Tony will probably play hockey this season whereas Stafne will be playing domino in prison.

I'm surprised more goof fans haven't showed up on this thread to verbally stone Mosey like they do each time a UND player cleans out his garage, I guess they are busy talking about how great their players did academically last year.....................:D

I did not claim the two events were comparable. I am making the point that many sling mud at other programs without thinking and now it's our (SCSU fans) turn to take a little heat. Regardless of the offense the players irresponsible and reckless actions bring negative press and scrutiny to their programs. UND has had their fair share of this as well in recent years.

'Suppose that is "property damage." Here I was set to believe he actually may have HIT something.

Still waiting . . . :)

Was he planning on sewing it to the back of his jersey?

Maybe he was sick of being late to class.

That was the stop sign he kept rolling through on his way back from the bar.

Lot's of fodder for jokes here, but seriously, stealing a stop sign?!
