I would not hire Gwoz. Oh, wait, forgot what thread I'm in. Hire Gwoz! He has no ego, never has a beef with any admin, and is a really humble and down to earth guy! ;)

G$ interviewed with MN, yes. I'm thinking MN wanted Motzko all along, and the rest were formalities.

Try for Montgomery. He was supposed to be our coach but Maine management said no. Guy score all time in history and can't be considered our coach. His jersey was raised I believe. Can't be our coach. Lovely... no wonder we can't win. Evidently Maine decides they need virtues of an ivy league college.

Just pathetic, no way Lucia deserved to be shown the door.

Well, people don't believe me, but I've said I'm a SCSU fan, not my favorite team, as that is obviously the Gophers, but if SCSU hired Don Lucia, honestly, I'd get a kick out of seeing Don teach the U a lesson for being so incredibly stupid.


College hockey is simply different now than it was 10 years ago, but lazy Gopher fans can't see the forest through the trees. The NHL rapes and pillages the blue blood programs, and no blue blood program is doing well the last 10 years, but Lucia was among top 3 last 6-7 years, but Gopher fans are TOO LAZY to figure that out and deserve any bad thing that comes their way now. Not saying this Goofball can't win here, but I'm very Unhopeful. Geez, I'm looking forward to 5-7 years down the road when we bring in Potulny to replace this goofball.


I seriously doubt Lucia will take any coaching job unless its in the NHL, but it wouldn't bother me one bit if he took a job, and totally outrecruited the Gophers and kicked our arses. There is more to life than sports. Principle matters, and this whole situation was just ugly. I love the U and the Gophers, but I wouldn't die for them, I wouldn't even give a limb for them. They get plenty from the Govt and private sources and if they can't figure out how to manage the best situation ever in college hockey, well, that's just pathetic.



Others gave up on the Gophers because we went to the BTHC, which just got 3 teams into the Frozen Four? If I give up on the Gophers it will be for a far more honorable reason. I mean, yeah, MAYBE Lucia's time was nearing it's end, but Motzko??? Man, if that is what you get as a reward for losing to #27 Air Force when you are the #1 overall seed in the tourney, well WOW. Just amazing.

And of course I am against the hiring, I think I made that 100% clear back before I got the boot. Right?




I've never been in favor of going after Motzko, and have always been in support of keeping Lucia. Something about losing 4 straight to PSU kind of leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Did you expect me to flip flop and come out in favor of it? Some Gopher fans like the move simply because it took SCSU's coach from them, I think that's pathetic. I enjoyed seeing SCSU doing well. I hope you guys find you a great coach. Only guy I don't want you to get is Potulny.

You know Slap Shot, I choose to tell the truth all the time... I'll leave it at that, and so how do you think tBob will do? Do you think he'll bring in better recruits? Do you think he'll go after more non-Minnesotans?

I keep wondering how any blue blood team will be able to maintain consistent success? With as many guys as we have in the NHL, should be try to do what UK does in cbb, and be happy with guys coming in and playing just one season? Seems to me tDon tried to adjust his recruiting, who he targeted, to avoid those kinds of players and to try to get the guys who would stay around for 3 to 4 years?

Board could tell us if he’s the same person. Actually, probably has already by not banning al there names when he banned Fred.

Well, technically I was only suspended, but if I start purposely triggering people again, I'd assume a banning would be warranted. I have no plans to give them an excuse to do so. Trying to turn over a new leaf. Hoping talking about it and trying to tell people I'm trying to turn over a new leaf does NOT trigger people? So I'm going to encourage people to keep on topic and I'll do the same.


Deep down, as much as I didn't want Motzko to replace tDon. HE DID. So just like I told people to get over the move from the WCHA to the B1G, I'm going to try to get over the coaching change and just accept that tBob is tGuy, tMan, and hope the best for him and my favorite team.

How much do you think Harbinson is making at Penticton? I have my doubts that it's over $300k. He is a decent candidate though. I don't know enough about how Junior A works. Does he pick his players?
 
I would guess he makes in that ballpark, maybe not quite that high but heard he was amongst the highest paid in junior hockey. The junior A works off the college model of recruiting... he’s been coined a elite recruiter

Herter is interesting too... another name to add to the mix.

Any news on interviews? Timelines?
