I think this is a temp fix to bridge gap for recruiting and the real story is who in on staff as that will tell you the longer term plans at U.

Watch and learn a few a things as not like Matzko been raking in the big salary all his life so here's a way to double salary last 3-5 years of career and hand off to successor with perhaps a severance package funding retirement as did you notice what Don gets on way out the door? didn't Matzko leave SCSU once before?

I agree, Don left on own terms as no way Coyle wanted to fire him, just was looking for a game plan to make a change so terms of surrender meant Lucia sticks around for duration of contract gets full severance payout to retirement and help choose his replacement. He wasn't planing to stay beyond one more year regardless.
