SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

whatch the link please. he tracked Genoway from the blue line (if not red line) in. Genoway moves the puck and Marvin goes around another malamute and hits high IMO intentionally

Of course he tracked him. He had the puck and Marvin was forechecking. It is quite easy to hit high on a guy 5'8 when you are 6'2. If Chay is bigger nothing happens to him. Was it a cheap hit? Yes. If that makes Marvin a cheap goon, so be it.:D He man'd up the next time they played and took what the Sioux could give him.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

In this last 2 months, SCSU has lost 1 game to each decent team that have played, sorry, sweeps against Quinnipiac, Brown, Minnesota, and Tech don't impress me, nevermind what happened vs UND last sat, i don't know what that was, so i'd say everyone will get a good idea about St Cloud after this weekend. If they come out with points they are a contender, if they get swept then it may be a different year, same story for St cloud. JMO

True, but they have been swept once this year at miami the first weekend of the season. I have not seen one Husky fan who thinks they will sweep this weekend. If they can split this weekend I like their chances at finishing second....

Remaining schedules, after this weekend:

UW- @MTU, @UM
SCSU- MSU (Home and Home)

UW has two games in hand compared to SCSU. I think that changes things in UW's favor if this weekend's result is a split. Playoffstatus.com agrees, although I have no idea what their formula is.

I think it's pretty reasonable to think that UW and SCSU will probably do the same amount of damage to Tech and Mn State, respectively. The real question is probably this: are the Gophers weak enough this year that you can expect UW to take 3 or 4 points from them?

As bad as the ground squirrels are, I think they will man-up and take one or two points off us. Therefore it is imperative for the Badgers to get 3 this weekend.

What is the tie-break after head to head if there is a split?

The first night was an OT loss. SCSU nearly put it away in OT. Otherwise they have not been swept all year and they have a winning record on the road. If anyone thinks they can predict this weekend good luck.

As talented as Wisconsin is they've found ways (albeit not often) to lose as well (ie UMD). In my opinion they are as talented as it gets in college hockey so it kind of surprises me they aren't battling DU for the league title. As I mentioned in another thread, I'm concerned about the Huskies being a little beat up right now. They've been through two very physical series with UND and UAA. No question the mental baggage of Saturday's result is not a positive either.

About all I can say is if Wisconsin gives the Huskies time and space the Huskies have a chance for two points. It's highly unlikely to consider 4 pts at the Kohl. A Friday win would allow for a good postgame on Friday and a successful weekend whatever happens Saturday.

good question. Looking at the numbers Yes, Uw swept a better UM team there last year, the problem is the better team doesn't usually win inthis series. Knowmatter the standings, when these teams play eachother they are as even as it gets. last year Minn controlled much of the play against UW in Minnesota, wisconsin got a sweep. This year wisconsin peppered Kangas both nights and won fri 4-2 and lost 5-2 saturday... They are just crazy game to predict, even a split is tough to predict in this series...

100% agree. Throw out the records when UW and gofersota play, so we've got to be at our best this weekend to overtake the "Montréal logo stealers" :D . In addition, we cannot take MTU up in da UP lightly.

Starting this Friday, it will be an interesting 3 week stretch.

Using your own logic, UW has lost a game in 2 out of the 3 "good team" series they've played and while they didn't lose to DU, they had to come from a 2-0 deficit to force the tie at home.
I guess my question is what's your point?
You can only play the schedule put in front of you and for the most part, SCSU has handled that schedule quite well which is what good teams do.
In years past, we've dropped games to teams we shouldn't and that hasn't happened this year.
