SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Bad fan? Excuse me but I watched Wisconsin until the end. I was just referring to my intermission channel flipping. At least I choose to "drink paint thinner". Apparently, for you, it's in your drinking water.

Bolded: huh? Have another High Life.

I drink the good stuff, unless I choose to not drink the good stuff. But it's usually the former.

Let's put it this way, I willingly watched Cornell/Quinnipiac last weekend. So, go have another brat and an Old Swill, put some cheese on your head, and continue to embarrass your fanbase. And that's saying a LOT.

Edit: dx: yep, it came from that thread. Yager is cool beans. Good guy.

I have a cookie for Brenthoven. He watched a meaningless college hockey game because his team is so awful he can't watch his. He is the greatest college hockey fan ever. Talk about embarrassing: East Coast hockey is an upgrade from his "State of hockey".... Yikes!

BTW, I do watch other teams, just not meaningless ones like yours who have no impact on the standings.

MN was on the bye last week. Try again.

Even more proof that you have little knowledge of the sport outside of your own little red'n'white world. And even then...

I didn't say you weren't on bye. I was pointing out that it was an upgrade. Learn to read.

Read your post, the bolded part. If I could watch my team, I would have. I couldn't, so I watched another game. Have another bottle of 'thinner.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Right. I was assuming you'd watch your DVR full of highlights of this banner Minnesota season.

Boy you're ignorant. I still write checks. You really think I have a DVR?

And I thought uwbadgers16 or whoever was an idiot. You really take the cake.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

No, but I kick arse the old fashioned way.

Awesome. And so does your hockey team. Uh, wait.....

Back to hockey, though. As I was saying in the other thread, UW has scored 13 more goals than SCSU this year and has given up 15 less goals while playing 2 less games. I like our chances of a sweep.

I blame the sloppy play from this weekend on MSU's knack for committing a penalty every 2 minutes. That really hurts the flow of the game, and I think we'll see some much better hockey at the KC next weekend.

For that stat to really matter, you'd have to compile common opponents. That's the very least of that research, albeit the easiest to compare. Personally, I think WI is a more talented team than SCSU, but then again SCSU is at the top of the conference for more reason than luck.

I haven't really seen either team a whole lot, so I can't really delve into this series as much as I'd like, as it IS a key series in the stretch run. Hopefully, CSTV or a FS channel will pick it up this weekend.

I don't agree on that it has to be common opponents. There are too many variables like who had home ice, what goalie was playing, injuries, etc to make goal differential matter more than you think it does.

Look at it this way: UW also has these numbers with the 3rd toughest SOS in the KRACH while SCSU has the 7th toughest SOS.

SCSU isn't lucky to be on top as they have some good players, but UW has been beating teams like them by taking advantage of their immense depth.

If you disregard common opponents, you add even more variables to the mix. With common opponents, you can narrow that down, even a little. Less variables=less margin for error. It might not matter in the long run, but if you can have that opportunity to limit the variables to make a decent comparison, you take it.

Well playing two more conference games than Wisconsin certainly helps.

OMG.....you like UW's chances of a SWEEP?????

dude. SCSU is playing **** good hockey. A split is not what I'd like to see but is the most likely scenario.

don't sell the malamutes short. and don't inflate UW. They're good, but have a ways to go IMO. Geoffrion, Davies, B. Smith, C. Smith, need to keep producing and Stepan at some point needs to return from the WJC

(I really don't know the answer to this one) but what did they do in those "extra" games? I mean, is WI in a favorable position, given the remaining schedules? Or did SCSU win those "extra" games so far. It's a tough question, given the fact you have to "choose" which two games count; I usually go by the week when WI has the bye, and SCSU doesn't, if that helps.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Do to our dismal history at the Kohl Center, our most recent game and the fact that I've given up on the McNaughton and just looking for a top 3 finish, I'm actually hoping for a split.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

I probably shouldn't say this, but I feel pretty good about our chances of taking 3 or more points this weekend.
