No fair! The WCHA website still has a link but it takes you to a dead page. And the person doing the live blog for the Gophers hasn't said a thing in about ten minutes. Sheesh! The whole purpose of a blog, as I understand it, is to TYPE THINGS!

As long as these two teams wear each other out so neither one is ready to play tomorrow, I'm good with that.

I don't know how Minnesota's swiss cheese defense is going to shut down the Dogs' top line, but tomorrow's going to be interesting! :D

Maybe they won't. Although when UMD played OSU a few weeks ago, the Buckeyes scored 8 goals in 6+ periods. Today, OSU got 4 goals in 4+ periods. So maybe the Buckeyes are pretty good at finding or creating those holes. I do think that Minnesota will need to play a complete 60 minute game tomorrow in order to win. We'll find out if they can.

Thankfully, UMD's top line doesn't have anybody with the last name "Spooner" - she was absolutely fantastic in today's game. What a player she is...

Throwing a "shout out" to 'Cuse for an outstanding effort against the Lakers today. Despite being outshot 50-20, 'Cuse packed it down and gave the Lakers very few second chances. In fact, four out of the five meetings between these two were excellent games where the outcome was in doubt until very late. Schoedl not only stood on her head, but made more than a couple of saves with her head, playing very strong to give the Orange a chance today. Can't give enough kudos to Flanagan for doing an outstanding job with this program in very short order.

I was more worried about playing Syracuse than possibly playing Niagara. I followed the game on game tracker and got more than a little worried in that 3rd period.

The Game was closer than the shot count indicated. Mercy controlled the play in the first 2 periods. Syracuse was playing defensive and kept the majority of the shots to the outside.
However in the third they decided to take chances and it resulted in a very close game. Mercy looked a little tired in the third (probably from taking so many shots LOL)
Congrats Mercy!!!
Excellent effort by the Orange. Looking forward to next year.:D
