Scores and Highlights 09-10

Goaltender Kayley Herman initiated a beautiful goal, firing up the ice to Julie Allen, who fed a perfect pass to Brittany Skudder for the tip in on her first collegiate goal.

Unfortunately, I missed the goal with the camera (I was checking pics I had just taken) but I did see it "live." Miss Skudder didn't deflect the pass, she took possession of the puck in the right wing circle, cut in towards the net, then deked back, leaving the goalie wide and dry, as she tucked the puck into the net. Very sweet moves to say the least.

Photo Phil said he got the move (s) on video, but I didn't see it in his highlights. Maybe the filthy glass behind the nets rendered the video unviewable:(

Wax on, puck off;)

Gibber and I had a discussion about this very "issue." Time to wash the glass boys. The fans deserve better.

I'll take your word for it. From where I was, the timing and what I did see suggested a redirection. But the finish was slightly blocked from my vantage point.

I was, as usual, behind the offensive zone net, and I assure you, there wasn't a deflection. Skudder made a move I am hard pressed to even describe. It looked like she was going to shoot when she got in front, but she did some kind of body/head fake, pulled the puck around Vigilante, and just slid it by. Phil did say he got it on film.......

Sweet. Skudder reminds me of Wake skating out there, and it's great to know she can put the puck in like Wake as well. :p

A couple are Holy Cross players, so we can omit them as far as impact on D-I games. Of the remaining 18, who is left ... Scanzano and White (?). That means there is likely to be fewer difference makers; thus, less difference.

end of 2, Clarkson leads 2-1. Plenty of penalties and a few punches at the end of the period. Who says women's hockey isn't physical.
