A couple updates (before I leave to go cheer on the Minnesota volleyball team in the NCAA Elite Eight)... Both games are in progress...

Wisconsin 4, Minnesota State 1, 7 minutes to go second period.

Bemidji State 1, Minnesota Duluth 1, 6:05 to go second period.

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

Brrrrrrrrr frikken brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from Hanover, NH.

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

Dartmouth leads 1-0 over UNH after one period in Hanover... shots unofficially 11-10 in favor of Darty

No Joy: Dartmouth's Mariel Lacina stops a Courtney Birchard blast from the point, leaving it temptingly uncovered for just a moment. Lacina turned aside 10 Wildcats shots in the first period.

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

unh takes a 4*-1 lead on a ppg by lavoie, paton had a assist for her 4th point on the night, mid 3rd

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

UNH defeats dartmouth 4-1 in Hanover....

fwiw, the * was for a disalloed goal that unh scored when it was 1-0 dc early in the 2nd... normally slightly irritating, but the ref on the goal line emphatically signaled goal when Allen tucked it under the crossbar in the uppr right corner, and somehow the other 3 zebras talked him into waving it off..... photos and video showed it was clearly a goal.... thankfully it didnt come down to it and may have sparked unh as they scored 4 unanswered :)

Happy Holidays everyone!

Just for follow-up...

The final in Mankato was Wisconsin 6, Minnesota State 2.

Up in Duluth, the Bulldogs score 3 goals in the third period and beat the Beavers by a 4-1 tally.

The Goal That Wasn't: In this sequence Julie Allen lets go a wrist shot in the first picture, which then can be seen just inside the right post in the second, and is then visible under the top shelf (behind the cross bar, right center, to the left of the water bottle) in the third shot, and then exiting the net in the fourth.

The goal judge, who was at eye level with the top of the cage, but with an obstructed view because of the top shelf hoop, said he did not see the puck enter the net and thus did not turn on the light. The ref behind and to the right of the net did not immediately signal, though he did when he saw Allen raise her stick.
