I can tell you guys haven't experienced Milwaukee.
Years ago, during an airport delay, I chatted with a guy from Green Bay who bought me a Jäger shot. That's how I knew he was definitely a Wisconsin native. He was also very drunk and had lost his smartphone.
I have never been to Milwaukee though. I assume it would be as "flatland boring" as OKC, but I made that mistake in Omaha, which turned out to be pretty neat.
I agree with you on London vs. NYC. The Indians have lived there for years, and they're still treated like sh*t by some Brits, even if they were born in the UK.
Well, there are morons everywhere.
There are old Irish in NYC who still haven't accepted the PRs. And up the Hudson there's old Dutch money that hasn't accepted the English!![]()

New York has the best "mixed" culture of any city in the world - Berlin and, from what I've heard, Singapore are very close, but I could not live there. It's one of those "great to visit for a long weekend, but wouldn't want to stay" cities, right up there with Boston and both Portlands.![]()
I’ve lived in two of those cities, never thought of them as much alike so that’s an interesting take.
I was in east Berlin, but not plattembau. I was on the Mitte/Prenzlauerberg Border and then moved to friedrichshain, near Frankforter TorI remember you said you lived in Berlin once. I thought the blend of German (majority)/Turkish/Polish/Vietnamese was remarkable. I had a Turkish Uber driver last year who spoke good German, but was asking me what "tent"/"tarp" meant in English.
I could live in Berlin, but probably not in the Plattenbau - that's a bit too "East" for me.![]()

After 3 nights at the Berlin Hilton, I spent one night at the OSTEL, near the East Side Gallery. Very different, especially compared to the junior suite I had at the Hilton. I did the Stasi Museum that day, too. It's not far from the OSTEL.
Both of Those hotels are in the two neighborhoods I lived In. Loved both.
Berlin is such a weird mix, the Turks being just one group. I had a German friend whose dad had worked for the Stasi and man did that mess him up

Stasi fcked up a lot of people, especially friends and couples. Particularly felt bad for the story of Vera Lansgfeld.
The Lives of Others was a beautiful and heartbreaking movie.
When I want to see a happy Berlin movie, I watch Goodbye Lenin. One of my faves
London is as cosmopolitan as New York if not more so. Tokyo would be way down the list. Bangkok would be higher if they counted 2nd gen+ Chinese but otherwise it's fairly homogeneous. Dubai would rank #1 of cities I've been to by a large margin, Toronto would be near the top as well.
Salzburg is straight-up money at least in the tourist part, lol.
