The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
RPI's dump-n-chase was very effective against Clarkson because Clarkson was slow to collect the puck and RPI was winning the battles at the boards. That hasn't been true for Union. They take control of the puck quickly after the RPI dump. Union is controlling the puck and passing into the zone rather than allowing RPI to win it at their own boards.
RPI has been setting up some decent passing plays, however, and I think that's the approach they're going to have to execute if they're going to win.
Once Union stops jumping into the box this is going to be really tough.
The other thing I'm seeing is that Union is willing to be aggressive and take some chances on passes and forechecks that Clarkson wasn't willing to take. This is working, because even when the chance doesn't pay off and the man gets beat they seem to have no trouble recovering.
