RPI Recruit Thread 2021-22 (Part II)

Doubtful he knows Colgate lost their best recruits

He posted a link in this tweet to a spreadsheet with his data to a detailed spreadsheet. He seems to have done a lot of work, but there is much garbage in it. E.g., Babich (one of our top 4 recruits) and Fawkes are two of our incoming recruits in the Fall. It will be better if he updates the players when only who actually shows up in the rosters is included.

No he got dropped awhile ago. Ralph was just saying that guy has him listed as coming in his rankings, so he doesn't have everything accurate

That indeed was what i was saying. He has a lot of errors, but since he probably made them everywhere, it could be fairly correct. That is, except for QU who should be much higher..

That is great, except for the fact that it increases the chance that he will be McDonald#2.

Ralph, I don't see much benefit in such speculation on future recruits. After all, it's not as if we haven't had a solid percentage of our D come from the USHL in recent years. We can and should be able to recruit such players.

De-commits come in all shapes and sizes. Some just don't take seriously the concept of commitment - just using school A as a place holder until they can get an offer from School B. Others may have been jerked around by the school - either unintentionally because they forecast wrong when an opening would be available or intentionally because the school didn't like the player's development. We just don't know what happened with McDonald. He may have lost faith when we didn't play. On the other hand, and I'm just guessing, the fact that he's going to a different school in a year in which he could have undoubtedly enrolled at his original commitment (unlike Ardanaz and Evans who appear to have enrolled because they could avoid UNH pushing them out an extra year) is probably a good clue. In any case, I'm going to privately hope that Ardanaz, Strom and Smolinski turn out to be better players (which is possible as the sixth round is pretty close to the crap shoot level) and I'll apply my small vindictive streak to secretly root against McDonald if I go to a game this year with my NU-alum daughter or NU grad student nephew.

Alazem is always liking tweets about RPI, whether it's from Red Army, DS, or the RPI athletics account. Wouldn't be concerned about him

I have changed added Budy and changed Cherepak to 2022. I have left in Aslanidis although I am almost positive that he is no longer a recruit.

The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women):
Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch=Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

In any case, I'm going to privately hope that Ardanaz, Strom and Smolinski turn out to be better players (which is possible as the sixth round is pretty close to the crap shoot level) and I'll apply my small vindictive streak to secretly root against McDonald if I go to a game this year with my NU-alum daughter or NU grad student nephew.

probably going to happen a lot more.
