# Known to have signed National Letter of Intent
The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women):
Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch=Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,
St-Strength, To=Toughness, Vi=Vision/Passing

If these are the types of players that are our top targets, I feel like that's a bit troublesome. Shaw looks like a fine prospect but not a high-end one. Hanscom looks like a borderline D1 prospect based on his numbers.

However, our coaching staff seems to excel at finding underrated and overlooked recruits before they blossom. Both of these players were at the Select 17s and both had very good performances there. I hope that means they are about to take that step forward in their development

It isn't clear to me that they were our top targets. They just signed now because they could not have signed until now as they will be US HS Juniors in the fall. I do agree that they do not appear to be great players based up their NZ star ratings. As you said they were selected for the Select 17 tourney. They did pretty well statistically.

Absolutely true. The art of scouting/recruiting is nothing more than trying to figure where a kid is on his development curve. In my view our coaches have done a very nice job of hunting down some kids that may be flying under the radar. These two are 2025 commits, so plenty of time to develop and mature physically. Time will tell.

I have no idea where these guys fit in the coaches' preference list and there's always risk in projecting player development, but if the staff views them highly enough to be recruited on day one of eligibility I'm satisfied. Every year D-I schools recruit 400-500 players. In recent years they have been 60+% American. IIRC correctly the Selects camp is supposed to represent the top 150 or so players (in someone's opinion) for a given birth year. That would seem to confirm these guys are in the top 1/2 or so of the talent pool. Now let's hope they develop and enroll as planned.
