RPI Recruit Thread 2021-22 (Part II)

Interesting that they list him as living in Maryland Heights, MD. Previously he has been listed either as Dunn Loring, VA or Washington, DC. Maryland Heights, MD is across the Potomac from Harpers Ferry, WV. I thought it was just a steep cliff. I do have the vague feeling that I have seen it mentioned before.

Ryan Sanborn is in the Dubuque A-S game. Each team has 3 goalies. https://twitter.com/fightingsaints/s...12729620217865

One of the others is a returnee and Denver commit. RS is the only other who has committed.

Edit: The only other goalie rated as 4.0 (or higher) by Neutral Zone is Thatcher Bernstein, an '06. Paxton Geisel (Denver) is rated 3.75. The other 3 are lower.

Some more info
Geisel played for Dubuque last season as an '04 (.897 SV%) and is on NHL Central Scouting's list. He's without a doubt making the team again.
Carney is a late '03 who had a .906 for Corpus Christi last season. They were terrible, and he saw a lot of action. Undrafted USHL.
Dahlmeir is an '03 who had an .896 for St. Cloud in the NAHL last season. 8th round phase 2 pick.
Ingemann is an '05 who had a good year in Minnesota HS hockey last season. St. Cloud chose him in the NAHL draft in the 9th round. Undrafted USHL.
Bernstein is an '06 playing prep school (.901 SV%). Was at USNTDP evaluation camp (like Sanborn was for his year). He was a 2022 5th round futures pick.

The way I see it is that one or two players will make the team along with Geisel. Bernstein is highly unlikely because of his age. I bet they affiliate him while he goes back to prep. Ingemann is also out I bet. He's young, small and undrafted. St. Cloud seems to think he won't make it. I would think based on his stats that Dahlmeir would be out, but they chose him in phase 2. Carney is better stats-wise at least. Sanborn has a good chance I think. He had a .929 in prep last season, has size despite his age and appeared in games as an affiliate last season. I would think he's above Dahlmeir (but maybe not). He's listed above Carney on the line chart. If he's ahead of both of them, he should make it. If he's only ahead of one of them, then it depends on if they carry 3 goalies or not. I really doubt he's behind both of them.

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women):

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women):

I am listing Cherepak as a '23 recruit, but he could be for this fall. We should find out soon.

I've got to believe he's for this year. With the transfer from WMU, we thought we had 3 goaltenders, each with up to 3 years of eligibility. This only makes sense if one has decided not to be in Troy for Labor Day or has an injury that would prevent playing this season. If so, Cherepak looks like a very good get at this late date.

Agreed. That summarizes it well. Hopefully, it isn't Watson.

I have some news on our potential USHL players.

First, Kareem Alazem has made it through Green Bay's camp. He'll be in their training camp in early September, but it is unknown if he will be there all season or if he will end up back in Maryland in the NAHL.
Second, Jackson Kyrkostas made Muskegon's roster but has chosen to go back to KUA because he'd like to graduate there.
Lastly, I don't know if Sanborn made it out of Dubuque's camp, but he is not going back to the Hill School. If he doesn't make Dubuque, he's going to play in the NAHL.
