Turk-he is real small-but then again he is young-but someone should take a real hard look at this kid. He seems to just get into open areas and teams seem to lose him out there. i usually like my forwards Tinordi size-but I really appreciate some of the smaller kids with speed and talent.

From the stats, that appears to be Kasdorf's best game in ages. Des Moines, however, was eliminated from playoff consideration with the loss. Four of our six USHL recruits will be in the playoffs with Devito and Kasdorf ending their seasons next weekend.

I like his thinking (Chris Bradley on the OT GWG)......."I was just trying to put it to the net," Bradley said. "Good things happen when you throw it at the net. That was my first instinct. I saw a lane, and I just took it. I wanted that one really bad. After last night we were frustrated as a team. I was looking forward to this all day."

It'll be a short run for 1 of the recruits as Youngstown & Cedar Rapids face each other in the 1st round...With their 2-1 overtime win over the Indiana Ice Saturday night, the Youngstown Phantoms clinched home-ice advantage for the first round of the 2012 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Phantoms will host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in a best-of-three series starting with Game 1 on Monday, April 16.

Hopefully that thinking continues. I know BRO was throwing a few pucks to the net last year, as he also developed some shot confidence when he was in the USHL. It's a lot more difficult in the ECAC given the tendency to go down and block shots. I don't know how much of shot blocking is done in the USHL, maybe the team should get some practice shooting over downed tree trunks or something when they get to RPI.

It seems to be a symptom of hockey at all levels that defensemen can rarely receive a game star if they don't score a goal.
