Re: RPI Pros V

What good is being called up to the AHL if all you are going to do is sit on the bench and watch the games. York has been the back up the last two nights and I bet he would rather be playing in Florida.
He just can't seem to catch a break.
Yorkie was re-assigned back to Florida today.

Re: RPI Pros V

I was surprised to note that, after scoring a goal in the shootout during the Panthers' game against the Flyers on Thursday, Pirri was not in the lineup for their game against the Penguins on Saturday.

I wonder if he's come down with the mumps.

Edit - Evidently Pirri is mumps-free, as he was back in the lineup for Monday night's game, though his ice time was limited to a little over ten minutes.

He was chosen to be first man up for the Panthers in the shootout. The Penguins' announcers seemed surprised by the choice, but he was also first up in the shootout against the Flyers, so the Panthers' coach evidently has Pirri tabbed as a guy who can excel in that aspect.

The shootout went seven rounds, with each team using seven different players, before the Panthers finally came out on top.

Anyone happen to know how many different players must have a shot in the shootout before a team can go back and use the same player a second time?

Guy Leboeuf on the move again.....Defenseman Guy Leboeuf will add size and strength to the Beast’s blueline. The 6’5”, 215-pound defenseman has played 27 ECHL games so far this season, in addition to a 14 game stint with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL last year. He was invited to the Arizona Coyotes rookie camp earlier this season, playing with Team Canada sensation and top-prospect Max Domi. Know for his ability to shut down the opposition’s best offensive players, Leboeuf will be a key part of the Beast’s defensive core moving forward..... http://www.bramptonbeast.com/news/?article_id=306

Re: RPI Pros V

Are you sure that they were playing hockey?

For those who may have been wondering whatever happened to former SLU player and New York Rangers coach Mike Keenan, he was the coach of the winning team in that game.

During the regular season, he is the coach of Metallurg Magnitogorsk, which won the KHL championship last year, making him the only coach to have won both the Stanley Cup and the Gagarin Cup.

Don't forget how Keenan ruined the Blues by bringing in Gretzky but making 99 hate him so much that he left for New York. And then he dumped Hull. I don't like Mike Keenan.

A lot of people don't like him.

I wonder if he is fluent enough in Russian to speak directly to his players. Maybe the Metallurg players don't understand him well enough yet to hate him.
