Re: RPI Pros V

Ник Бэйлен had a goal and two assists (both on Kovalchuk goals!) in the KHL All Star Game last weekend. Nick was on the ice for 18 of the 34 goals, ending up at -2. Bailen and the West lost to the East 16-18.

Well, if this hockey thingy doesn’t work out it looks like he has a future in blacksmithing.... http://instagram.com/p/ycaoUhTU8w/

Re: RPI Pros V

Allen York recalled to Syracuse. Maybe he’ll get some time in net this time. He’s had a tough go at it since being sent back to Fla. until his shutout Fri. night.

Depending on what veteran G Evgeny Nabokov decides it could be a good break for Yorkie........The Tampa Bay Lightning placed Evgeni Nabokov on waivers this afternoon and recalled Andrei Vasilevskiy from the Syracuse Crunch. According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, the Lightning are expected to assign Nabokov to the Crunch should he clear waivers. There's no reason to believe that he will be claimed, but Johnston does speculate that Nabokov may not report to the AHL if and when assigned. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Michael-Stuart/Nabokov-Waived-Vasilevskiy-Recalled/173/66034

Re: RPI Pros V

Pirri scored a power play goal against the Rangers last night. It is good to see him get some quality ice time.

He looked very good on almost every shift. Could not understand him playing on the fourth line but he did get out on the power play. No question he has put on some weight since his RPI days and much stronger on his skates. Exciting game with tons of chances both ways.

Re: RPI Pros V

Hmmm... home game this Wednesday... maybe I'll pop in...

With Yorkie's luck, he will start the game on the bench and watch as the starting goalie gives up four goals on five shots.

He will then be brought on in relief and make 39 saves while allowing only one goal, that coming on an attempted centering pass which deflects off a Crunch defenseman's skate.

And he will be charged with the loss, as that one goal will result in a 5-4 Hartford win.

Hey, I can make pessimistic predictions, too! ;)

....actually, the 4th line is Thornton/Mackenzie & whoever. BP has been playing on the Bjudstadt line for a week or so. He’s been getting top minutes for the last 3-4 games. I think last night vs the Rangers, HC Gallant was using the Bolland line more as a defensive line vs NY’s top line. Hopefully his concussion issues are behind him....sure looks like it, 4g in 5 games now.

Re: RPI Pros V

BP scores again (ENG). He probably wouldn’t even have been on the ice as he was serving a penalty for a faceoff violation that was clearly not him. Fla. kills the penalty & BP is unable to get off the ice but the puck finds him, he gains the red line & scores his 5th in last 6 games.

And he also had an assist on Florida's second goal. Nice to see him getting some serious playing time.

Did that actually happen to him?

It's looking like he'll probably be the backup. http://www.syracuse.com/crunch/inde...for_consistency_as_he_takes.html#incart_river

Sometimes luck is more important than playing well. On the stat sheet ENG counts as any other goal. As i mentioned, BP just looks a lot bigger and stronger than when we saw him previously. I was beginning to question his chances of sticking in the NHL but he is making very good progress and if he can avoid injury, looks to be a big time player for a longer time.

Re: RPI Pros V

Mike Zalewski scores two unassisted goals in the third period to lead the Utica Comets to a come-from-behind 3-2 win at Glens Falls.

These were Zalewski's second and third goals of the season.

Where's he been all year?

Perhaps he should have been in Troy?;)
