Re: RPI Pros V

You only spent one year at college playing for RPI. Why did you decide to turn pro after one season?

Pirri - It's every kid's dream to play in the NHL and I had an opportunity to sign with the Blackhawks. Those opportunities don't come along too often so I had to jump at that. It was a lot of fun and it was the right decision for me....... http://panthers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=709877

Re: RPI Pros V

So I guess both of them have to be paid at the NHL salary level for the balance of this season, regardless of whether they play in a game or not?

Re: RPI Pros V

That is quite the disparage in salary between AHL and NHL.
Not sure if you need a dictionary or a better spell checker there FD.

I wonder if all of this isn't just a way to give the guys a signing bonus without the actual bonus. Instead of getting $100K and making AHL rates, they make about 15% of that NHL money for the year. I also wonder if our early departure from the ECAC may have given these guys a leg up on other kids still in the tournament picture. If so, then it's clear to me that these two guys threw the games against Dartmouth! (Just kidding).
