Re: RPI Pros V

I agree with going where he can play everyday, for his development, but to have been signed to a PTO by 3 different organizations this year I would say he is getting at least noticed.

Being a goalie, hsi situation is distinctly different from another position player. If he can just hang around-he is likely to get a few shots as a backup. All it takes is then being in the right place at the right time. An injury or some other occurrence while he is in a temporary back up position-and huzzah! Over the years i have seen it with a lot of goalies. Some do not get much chance until they are in their 30's. You just do not often see that with forwards. They have to make an impression by their mid 20's or their chance to stick in the NL diminishes geometrically. I still have hopes to see York as an NHL goalie somewhere, sometime.

Re: RPI Pros V

Hopefully JD'A isn't hurt. He took a brutal elbow to the head in the 3rd period....missed several shifts....thankfully, gets back onto the ice only to be plastered into the boards by the same player who elbowed him (Robert Bortuzzo). He skated off the ice and went down the tunnel and didn't return. Looked to be a shoulder or ribs. Really too bad because he was on his way to another 15min. plus game and another strong game at that. Kind of fun watching Jerry and our old friend, Harry Z, going at it. They were whacking each other on the shins pretty much every time they were on the ice together for a faceoff.....http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/boxscore?id=2013020505

Re: RPI Pros V

Turk-i saw that hit and cringed. i thought that elbow was distinctly higher-Jerry looked not only hurt but dazed. Thought originally we were looking at concussion city out there. Hopefully he is OK. Game featured a couple of good fights-and if not for tht late goal-could have gone either way.

Re: RPI Pros V

here's a video of the headshot to JD'A. Certainly appears Jerry had his head down and never looked up to see the hit coming.....Head up to all you youngsters out there. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb1I7UdI8MI) .......... BTW, Coach Carlyle said the injury that Jerry did not return from was his shoulder.....

Re: RPI Pros V

What are the chances that he gets to be the #1 goalie and plays regularly throughout the series? He needs to play on a regular basis somewhere.
