RPI Pros V

Looks like good news and bad news.

The good - Springfield scored twice in the first five minutes of the third period and hung on to win, 5-4, making a winner out of York and a loser out of DiPietro.

The bad - York was replaced by Paul Dainton at 7:42 of the third period and Dainton finished the game. Since Bridgeport didn't score any goals in the third, that probably indicates York either re-aggravated his previous injury or injured himself a new way.

Darn that DiPietro - that injury bug of his must be catching. :(

Yeah, Bridgeport had a goaltender interference penalty at 6:42 of the third. Seems like that might be when York may have been injured or re-aggravated his old injury, tried to play and decided a minute later he couldn't.

that's what I thought when checking the box last night but we're all wrong! Yorkie actually left the game after Backman's goal in the 1st period. He was replaced by Dainton who was injured in the 2nd period, bringing Yorkie back in who shut the door and picked up the win.... http://theahl.com/falcons-storm-back-against-sound-tigers-p182854

I'm glad Yorkie was able to redeem himself and isn't hurt! Sorry about Dainton though.

Yesterday in the ECHL...

Bakersfield lost 5-4 in a shootout. Erik Burgdoerfer had a shootout attempt but failed to score, was a +1 with 2 SOG. Greg Burgdoerfer had two goals (!) in 3 SOG and was a +3.

Jeff Foss had an assist in Cincinnati's 5-4 OT win.

Bryce got shelled giving up 5 goals (three even strength, one powerplay, and one shorthanded) on 30 shots in Orlando's 5-1 loss. :( Interestingly enough (or not) Orlando's one goal was also shorthanded.

...and one of Greg's goal was a SHG!

at first it was reported that Philly sent a draft pick to CBJ's but now they're reporting that Philly goaltender Michael Leighton was also part of the deal.

Re: RPI Pros V

BlueJackets also acquired goalie Patrick Killeen (Pitts.) for future considerations. Killeen was with Orlando (ECHL)

Re: RPI Pros V

When i saw the Ranger trade activity my thoughts went immediately to whether they would try to pick up an insurance goaltender from Columbus. Guess not:(

With as many Rangers as have been shipped over to Columbus the past two seasons, I'm surprised we didn't see Lundqvist for York and a couple late round picks.

Re: RPI Pros V

Yorkie's 2yr. ELC expires after this season.....talk today was the reason Mikka Kipprasov wouldn't wave his no-trade with Calgary was he probably was planning on retiring after the year......does Yorkie look to go back home to Alberta?
