Re: RPI Pros IV

Allen York's season is now over as well, as the Springfield Falcons did not make it to the postseason. Polacek and Foss' respective teams will be starting their playoff runs on Wednesday and Thursday of this week http://theahl.com/2011-playoffs-p170210
Polacek and Foss' teams may be starting the playoffs, but I'm not sure Polacek and Foss will be involved.

IIRC, each AHL team must submit a list, several weeks before the end of the season, of players that will be eligible to play for that team in the playoffs. An AHL team's list can include players currently playing with the AHL club's NHL affiliate, since those players might be sent down for the Calder Cup playoffs once the NHL team is eliminated from the Stanley Cup.

However, if the lists were submitted before Polacek and Foss signed pro contracts, then they're probably not going to be eligible for playoff action.

I agree that the teams might not want to mess with success in changing the rosters they've used all year. However, they are allowed to add players signed to ATOs to their playoff roster:

Teams may also add signed draft choices and players signed to amateur tryout contracts, provided that their respective Junior seasons are complete

Re: RPI Pros IV

YOUTH IS SERVED…Usually when a player is signed to an
amateur try-out contract following the conclusion of their college or
junior career they aren’t expected to contribute a great deal on the ice,
but rather get a feel for what the professional game and prepare
themselves for the next step in their careers. However, because of
injuries and call-ups the Admirals will look to their ATOs to play
valuable minutes in the playoffs. Currently the team has six players
on their roster who are on ATOs: Cory Conacher, Ben Ryan, Taylor
Beck, Michael Latta, Jeff Foss and Austin Watson. Don't know if this means Foss will be on the playoff roster or not. This was taken from the team's web page.

Re: RPI Pros IV

Polacek is listed on the Rivermen's playoff roster. Change the drop-down box to 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs, and he's still on the roster-as is a new recruit the Rivermen just signed today. This article mentions that one of their right wings was left home from Houston for disciplinary reasons--I suppose that improves Chase's chances of seeing ice time somewhat.
