Re: RPI Pros IV

So not actually that surprising. Since Rockford's season is over, they took they players they may need to make use of in the playoffs and recalled them to Chicago so they would be available in a pinch.
Phoenix also called up 10 players, so yeah, I'm sure it's for insurance.....but, who was that kid on the Yankee bench a "few" years ago....oh yeah, Wally Pipp ;) Foss is a scratch for Mil. tonight as is Lord w/Okl.

Re: RPI Pros IV

Brandon Pirri called up to the Blackhawks. As per NHL network.

Good luck Brandon.
I don't know about this Pirri kid. Didn't show much improvement from the #'s he put up last year. ;) In all seriousness, how long has it been since the Alumni page has been this active :)

Love the Wally Pipp reference;)

Re: RPI Pros IV

Chase is in tonight, 1 SOG after 2 periods....2-2 tie http://theahl.com/stats/official-game-report.php?game_id=1008583

I listened to the game...from what I could tell he got about two shifts in the second period, and that was it. The Rivermen eventually lost, putting them down 0-2 in their series with the Houston Aeros. They play again in Peoria tomorrow night. The Milwaukee Admirals lost to the Texas Stars yesterday, tying their series at one game apiece. Jeff Foss didn't play. Their series continues in Texas on Tuesday.

Re: RPI Pros IV

The Peoria Rivermen lost to the Houston Aeros (again:(). They are now down 0-3 in their playoff series. Chase Polacek did not play (which is clearly their problem.)

Re: RPI Pros IV

Peoria looses 2-1, season over for the Rivermen & Chase....he did play http://theahl.com/stats/official-game-report.php?game_id=1008585 Both Foss and Lord were scratches in their respective games. Think we'll see any of the boys at the Hockey Banquet? If you're interested in going call Kevin Anderson 518-276-6777. I talked to him this morning & there are still seats available.

Some more information about the banquet on RPI athletics' website: http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/2008/4/1/mhockey040108.aspx
It says they will be honoring the seniors and Allen, as he will not be returning.

Re: RPI Pros IV

The Milwaukee Admirals beat the Texas Stars 3-2 today to tie their playoff series at 2 games apiece. Jeff Foss played, but had no points, penalties, or shots on goal.

Re: RPI Pros IV

interesting article in the April edition of the NY Hockey Journal. There's a story on Rob Schremp, 1st rd. pick of Edm., played w/Islanders, now w/Atlanta, in the article here's a quote from Schremp,... even now he still credits a few players and coaches for any success he's had up to this point, " Tim Connolly (Sabres) and Matt Murley, those guys are kind of idols to me". "I got to skate with Murley quite a bit (they were teamates on the Syracuse Jr. Team) it helped me quite a bit. They were really good hockey players". There's also a nice feature on JD'A in the Journal. It doesn't go on-line till May but if you're near the Knickabacker Arena in Troy or Kemps Hockey Store in Latham you can pick up a copy there....they're free.

Re: RPI Pros IV

The Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Texas Stars 2-1 in OT tonight to lead their playoff series 3-2. Jeff Foss did not play.

Re: RPI Pros IV

The Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Texas Stars 3-2 in double overtime tonight to win their best of 7 playoff series by four games to two. Jeff Foss did not play. They advance to the next round of the Calder Cup playoffs, facing the Houston Aeros, the team that swept Chase Polacek's Peoria Rivermen.

Re: RPI Pros IV

And the Blackhawks lost to the Canucks 2-1 in OT to lose their best-of-seven series 4-3. Brandon Pirri did not play and his season is now over.

The Milwaukee Admirals are tied 1-1 in their best-of-seven series with the Houston Aeros in the second round of the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs. Jeff Foss has not yet played in the series.

Re: RPI Pros IV

On May 3rd, the Milwaukee Admirals beat the Houston Aeros 5-3, and on May 5th they were defeated 3-2 in OT. The playoff series is now tied at two games apiece. Jeff Foss did not play either day.

Jerry D'Amigo, LW, Kitchener Rangers
Acquired: 6th round, 158th overall, 2009

Playing the majority of his season with the Marlies, it didn't seem like D'Amigo was going to be assigned to the Kitchener Rangers. D'Amigo fit in well with the Marlies, but the Maple Leafs felt he needed to rekindle the offensive game he displayed on the international stage with Team USA and with R.P.I. (NCAA).

D'Amigo joined the Rangers in early February and made an immediate impact with the club scoring a goal and an assist in his first game. Through the month of February he continued his solid production with the Rangers scoring eight goals and tallying 17 points in 12 games.

Concerns about his offensive ability seemed to fade away as the 20-year-old showcased more than enough through his 21 regular season games with the club scoring 28 points. He continued to aid the Rangers during the playoffs, scoring six goals and three assists before being knocked-out by the Whalers in game seven.

Next season D'Amigo will rejoin the Marlies and will look to prove that he has what it takes to be a top-six forward at the pro level.
