regular season is over for Kitchener...playoffs to start. Here's JD'A's finally numbers http://www.kitchenerrangers.com/roster/show/id/8293
and in GB. Jordan Watts, who transferred to Adrian College after last year will also be playing in the NCAA Tournament (Div.II) http://www.lenconnect.com/sports/co...key-team-advances-to-Division-III-Frozen-Four
Allen York picked up his first professional win tonight, as Springfield roared back from a 2-0 deficit with three third-period goals to beat Bridgeport, 3-2.
Allen was not especially busy, as he faced only 16 shots on goal.
Tonight, Allen York won 3-2 in his first start for Springfield and Chase got his first start and shot on goal for Peoria.
A good night for the new RPI Pros!
EDIT: Helfrich had an assist and a shot on goal in his first start for the Florida Everblades in their 5-4 loss to South Carolina.
York got his first loss this afternoon http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1008476.![]()
I'm assuming since each of the 2 goalies gave up 3 goals-and he got the loss-that he started the game and was removed after giving up 3 goals?
Brandon Pirri
How season has gone: “Coming into it, I didn’t really know what to expect. You’re playing against men here. It’s a whole different experience than college, and it’s like three times the amount of games. It’s been a learning experience with ups and downs like with everyone else.
“You’ve always got more to give. I’m never content with it. I know I can always work harder, do more off the ice and on the ice. Just from that, I know what to expect and try to become an everyday pro and work hard this offseason.”
Mental outlook: “I know what to expect. I know how hard everyone works. I know how hard you have to work to be up in Chicago, and that’s something this summer I’m going to do and bring it to camp next year.”
How you’ve improved: “It certainly helps playing with Taffer (Jeff Taffe) and Klink (Rob Klinkhammer). At the same time, I’m starting to do the little things where a month ago they were bad habits. I’m just working hard and coming to the rink with a positive attitude.”
Coach Peters on Pirri: “He’s really grown up. He’s matured on and off the ice this year. I’ve really liked him the last (four) weeks. He’s competing at a high level.
“He’s back playing center coming off an injury. He’s a natural center, and we’re probably going to leave him there the rest of his career. He’s moving the puck quicker and is understanding how you have to play to play pro hockey. He’s learned his lessons from the first half of the year, and he’s been a good player the second half.”
this article on Chase appeared in the March issue, I guess they don't put it online till the month is over http://www.nyhockeyjournal.com/news/issues/march_2011-0406.pdf scroll or click arrow to pages 22 and 23
