Re: RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds
Three points at home and two on the road is the key to securing a bye, right? Well, they're right on target so far. Unfortunately, three points at home will not get you the PtC win. Congratulations to 1988 on his second win of the season, having garnered 6 PtC points!
Friday, the Engineers put together a good second period and were up 3-1 with just 12 minutes to play, but could not hold on, giving up two extra attacker goals in the last 1:30 of the game, settling for their second 3-3 tie of the young ECAC season.
Guy Leboeuf scored RPI's first goal of the night.
Joakim Ryan had a pretty good night for the Big (Faux) Red, scoring twice and assisting on the game-tying goal. Neither Leboeuf nor Ryan were selected. In fact, there were just seven points scored by four posters on Friday.
Saturday was a penalty-filled affair with three majors called against RPI's skaters. But, the PK team hunkered down and helped steer the Engineers to victory.
Mark McGowan (nobody) put together a 4 PtC point night, scoring the game-winner, assisting on Leboeuf's second goal of the weekend, and also assisting on Laliberte's goal, RPI's fifth of the night.
Andrew Black (nobody) and
Tylor Spink (1988, myself, ehf, lugnut, MavHockey, REDaero, RKarger, and TuteScrooge) were Colgate's goal scorers, making them worth 2 PtC points each.
Not a whole lot of movement in the standings. vizoroo was the only poster to not tally a point this weekend. TuteScrooge jumped from 9th to 5th and there's now a 4-way tie for 6th place at 24 points. RKarger holds onto the overall lead and stretches it to 3 points.
