Congratulations to REDaero91! She had a stellar weekend, picking a most valuable Dutchman each day and getting enough points from Higgs on Friday to squeak past RKarger for the weekly win.
Friday, Matt Neal (RKarger and RPIHFH) had himself a pair of third-period goals, pulling the Engineers within shouting distance, but they found themselves unable to close the gap. Nick Cruice (REDaero) and Jeff Taylor (nobody) also had 4 PtC point nights. Cruice scored the lead-locking and game-winning goals whileTaylor had the secondary assists on Union's other two goals. Gostisbehere assisted on Union's first two goals, but one-upped himself on Saturday, so he was better held off until the next day.
And, on Saturday, Shayne Gostisbehere's (myself, cnor, MavHockey, REDaero, RPI fan 4 life, and TuteScrooge) two goals iced the game for Union before all of the pushing and shoving dominated the game. Brock Higgs (ehf, Ralph, RKarger, and TuteScrooge) scored RPI's goal that evening and Bo Dolan (nobody) assisted it, making each of them worth 2 PtC points.
Ralph, I saw no indication that Pontarelli was injured, but Vecchione didn't score any points anyway, so it didn't matter.
It was a rough week for 1988 as he went from winning last week to 16th this and dropped from 6th to 11th as a result. REDaero used her win to jump from 11th to 7th, while there wasn't much movement otherwise. RKarger has stretched her lead to 7 points over lugnut / Ralph, so she's trying to run away with the title early this season. Plenty of high scores this week and 14 of the 16 posters have at least 1 point each week so far, so there are no shortage of point streaks going on right now.

The Engineers will take a mid-season non-conference break to go visit the bounding metropolis of Erie, PA.
The Lakers of Mercyhurst University (not College!) are a relatively recent opponent for RPI with their first game coming in 2000. The men of Troy swept Mercyhurst last season and look to do similar this year.
Mercyhurst is hosting Niagara's Eagles tonight in a conference match-up, so their ineligible skaters will not be available until after tonight's game, but feel free to pick if you're pressed for time or just wish to, just check back tomorrow morning to make sure you're still in the clear.
They will be playing the same team two nights in a row and your picks for the two nights cannot be the same, so you will have four different players across the two nights.
You may not choose the following players for this game:
RPI - Ryan Haggerty
Mercyhurst - Daniel O'Donoghue NOR Nick Jones
