Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Sorry for the late update, everybody. I've been a little under the weather since Friday (and no, it was neither from my celebrations nor the play of the Engineers).

Congratulations to ehf (first weekly win), GRussinko (fifth), and hawthr (second) who all gain a bonus point in a high-scoring "weekend". Each of them picked up at least two points from each of their choices and also had the high-scoring position player for UConn and a high-scoring player for RPI. Ralph and FlagDUDE are now the only two regulars who have yet to record a weekly win.

GRussinko uses his big weekend to take back first place from Ralph. hawthr uses his weekend to vault into the top 10 while ehf nearly doubles his score and passes a couple of posters in the process. I did not do so well and nearly fell out of the top 10, but I'd like to note that the 5th-11th places are separated by a grand total of two points.

The top choices on the weekend were:
Engineers - Haggerty's goal (hawthr), Neal's goal (nobody), Lee's pair of assists (lugnut92... surprise surprise ;)), and Schroeder's goal (ehf, GRussinko, and mackek2)
Riverhawks - Vallorani's three goals and two assists (nobody)
Cadets - Hull's goal and assist (ehf, RKarger, and RPIHFH)
Huskies - Bartus's shutout of Army (nobody); Harris's goal and pair of assists led all position players (ehf, FD08, GRussinko, hawthr, mackek2, MavHockey14, Ralph, and RKarger)

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

Rensselaer welcomes the Big Green the Crimson and the Yellow Jackets to the HFH this upcoming weekend while wondering what the heck they have to do to right the ship.

So, remember when I said that these were going to be two separate weeks? Yea, not so much. AIC doesn't have any games in between today and next Tuesday and I know that I'm not going to be able to put up the results and intro post for Tuesday's game in time for everyone to have a fair chance, so they're going to be combined. Therefore, there will only be one bonus point handed out (barring ties) for these three games. But, I'm going to make a concerted effort to make at least the intro post for next Saturday's game against Union on Tuesday night to make sure that you have plenty of time for that "week".

Dartmouth finished second in their own tournament because they "lost" to St. Lawrence in a shootout. They come in 2-0-1 in their last three games, but both of those wins have been against AHA opponents. Friday's game will be nationally televised on the NBC Sports Network. I bet the NBC execs are really regretting announcing their broadcast schedule very early in the season, there are a bunch of marquee matchups this weekend that I'm sure they would prefer.

Harvard's loss to the North Dakota somethings' on New Year's Eve broke a 5-game unbeaten streak and are sitting third by points or tied for fifth (seventh) in winning percentage in the ECAC standings.

AIC is looking to break a six-game losing streak that extends all the way past Thanksgiving. All six of those games were played against AHA West teams. Other stats of note for AIC: They are 1-3-0 against ECAC teams this season, earning their win against Brown just before Thanksgiving. This is the first season with a complete slate of games since the 08-09 season.

You may not choose the following players for this weekend:
Rensselaer:
F - Brock Higgs
D - Nick Bailen

Dartmouth:
F - Tyler Sikura
D - Connor Goggin OR Mike Keenan

Harvard:
F - Alex Killorn
D - Danny Biega

AIC:
F - Jon Puskar
D - Jeff Ceccacci

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
Dartmouth: Statistics | Roster (beware of C. / M. Goggin; D. / N. Walsh confusion)
Harvard: Statistics | Roster (beware of Marshall / Max Everson confusion)
