Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

wasn't that the day they had last year for the meet & greet w/mens, womens hockey teams & pick up season tix?

It'd be a little tough this year, seeing as how on that day, one of the hockey players is saying two specific words.

what would Kazzy's wedding have anything to do with it?.....if that's what you're referring to. Unless they're all going out to Winnipeg?

I read that they're getting married in the Troy area. However, if they have hockey line on September 7th, I would assume that most of the men's team would be a little busy celebrating with Kazzy.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

What's up Engineer fans? Just wanted to say you have a fan out in Cleveland, Ohio. I watch all the games on RPI TV and think they do a great job with the broadcast. Reason I follow them instead of any NCAA teams out here is I have family ties to the Albany area. We visit them a few times a year and this summer I got to see the Fieldhouse for the first time in person. I'm trying to make a trip up to catch a game this fall. Anyway this is my first post on here and I can't wait to get the puck dropped! Is it October 5th yet?

Welcome 216. If you get to a game, let us know which one. It is not unheard of for some of us posters to meet and get to know each other at the games. Hope to see you (and others) in Troy this year.

lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

With the BC game scheduled for 3PM, it gives ma a great chance to take my grandson to his first RPI hockey game. Does anyone know if BC sells out for every game? And, if not, how difficult will it be to get thickets?
Thanks

Thanks! That'd be a fun time. RPI faces a pretty challenging schedule this year, they will certainly be tested. It's nice to see a team like Denver come to the Fieldhouse this year. I think they have a chance at being one of the better teams in the ECAC. If they can build off of the success they had towards the end of the reg season last year, I think a trip to the ECAC semifinal isn't out of reach. What's your thoughts?

Unless youth hockey schedules prevent it, I hope to be there myself.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Conte Forum holds more than 8K. Last year they only had 4600 for a Sunday afternoon game against UMASS in November. I doubt that an RPI game would get many more people than that contest (if even that many). Just be ready to have to listen to some of the most arrogant fans/students in sports when you get there!

Have you ever been to Conte Forum and actually talked to anyone there because the people are quite nice and also behaved but isn't arrogant what is said about all fans/students of teams that have won so often by those that have won a lot less if at all (and i don't mean RPI with that statement because I know nothing about RPI fans but do know a little about your history) ? Anywho, the Hockey East schedule says the game is at 7 and I was just going to try to find out if that's correct as you guys say 3 PM or what ever. I tend to agree with the 3PM start. As far as a crowd is concerned if this were the opener on a Friday night it would be close to a sell out but on Sunday afternoon/sunday night i think the 5000K estimate is in the ball park but because it's the home opener maybe more, these are uncharted waters , opening up the season on a frigging Sunday

P.S. Conte Forum holds 7884, not over 8K

Couldn't imagine why, considering you called the game against us "ridiculous."

you have certainly read enough posts to have understood that the "ridiculous" description was about the DATE and STARTING TIME, not the opponent . In fact, i think it's great that BC and RPI are playing again

Both the RPI hockey page and BC athletics calendar list the game as a 3PM start. I appreciate your welcome to RPI fans ....I for one look forward to carbo loading at Mike's pastry shop and then heading over to Conte. :p
