Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Actually, i do like several of the modern singers and some of the stuff they do. But music wise, i really am stuck in the fifties and sixties. BTW, although not new by any means-I always loved when the HFH would blast "Tubthumping" for the RPI hockey team as they came out for their warm up skate before games. I would love them to play Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" for the team at times.
No Clarkson music! ;)

Doc,

You might want to check out http://wmnr.org on a Saturday afternoons from 4 PM to 6 PM EST. They have a program called "American Jukebox" that plays radio hits from that era.

I really enjoy their Saturday night program called "Big Band Hall of Fame." Music from the 30s and 40s and 50s isn't all that different from later eras except for the instruments: Benny Goodman on clarinet is just as rockin' as someone on electric guitar could be.

Thanks Double F. Will listen if time permits this weekend. If you have a yen for Benny Goodman-make sure to listen to that great Carnegie Hall concert from 1938

We'd better stumble onto some hockey news VERY soon or else DocD's gonna issue a Lawrence Welk throw-down....:D

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Today is 30 August 2013. There are 36 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2013 for the start of next season.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

What's up Engineer fans? Just wanted to say you have a fan out in Cleveland, Ohio. I watch all the games on RPI TV and think they do a great job with the broadcast. Reason I follow them instead of any NCAA teams out here is I have family ties to the Albany area. We visit them a few times a year and this summer I got to see the Fieldhouse for the first time in person. I'm trying to make a trip up to catch a game this fall. Anyway this is my first post on here and I can't wait to get the puck dropped! Is it October 5th yet?

Welcome-hopefully this thread will start to get back to hockey and we will have some really positive things to post.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Read that as "mindless dribble", which could work here as well, I'm sure there's quite a few here that are just drooling on their keyboards.

I thought we didn't talk about bouncyball here. :p:D

FWIW, football season starts September 7th, for those of you who were hoping you'd be able to fill your Saturday with something RPI sports related.

Several RPI teams will begin their seasons this weekend, beginning with the women's soccer team playing Stevens Tech in the TCNJ Classic, with kickoff less than an hour from now.

The field hockey team will also play later today, while the men's soccer team and both men's and women's cross-country will start tomorrow.

The cross-country teams will open their seasons by participating in the Rensselaer Invitational, which will be held in - um, er - Saratoga Springs.

Simple -- only thoroughbreds run in Saratoga. (Sorry, that was too easy...:D)
