Ace of Base version's still better.

Not to mention, which one went gold?

Doesn't matter. Everyone remembers the one by Bananarama. It's longevity that matters. No one remembers that Alien Ant Farm did a version of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal."

Everybody? They are both after the time that I listened to popular music. :p

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Please god, please let the athletic department release some sort of news item so we don't keep the Ace of Base/Bananarama debate going any longer.

I think we have only 2 stations programmed from Sirius radio in the cars-(50's on 5) and (60's on 6). Not sure I even know what other stations are available.;)

This involved the hockey team and it isnt about some corny song.....lets debate on what type of ice cream each player had. :p

Two years ago, Patty Koudys served me ice cream at the Hockey Line celebration, I congratulated him on the draft, and then he left forever. I've been blamed for his leaving due to this sequence of the events. That's why I wasn't allowed to congratulate Kazzy when he came to campus.

The same type of stations which I listen to on DirecTV, although I have listened to all sorts of things on YouTube.

Today is 29 August 2013. There are 37 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2013 for the start of next season.

Actually, i do like several of the modern singers and some of the stuff they do. But music wise, i really am stuck in the fifties and sixties. BTW, although not new by any means-I always loved when the HFH would blast "Tubthumping" for the RPI hockey team as they came out for their warm up skate before games. I would love them to play Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" for the team at times.

Could just take the easy route and block one of them like I did months ago.

Boys had good 2 mile run carrying weights this AM early. Looked like macdonald was watching with other coaches as wel.

In that case, congratulate as many Yale players as you can. :p

Doc,

You might want to check out http://wmnr.org on a Saturday afternoons from 4 PM to 6 PM EST. They have a program called "American Jukebox" that plays radio hits from that era.

I really enjoy their Saturday night program called "Big Band Hall of Fame." Music from the 30s and 40s and 50s isn't all that different from later eras except for the instruments: Benny Goodman on clarinet is just as rockin' as someone on electric guitar could be.
