Luke Curadi -
http://www.pentictonherald.ca/stories_local_sports.php?id=254023
Curadi said playing in the BCHL was crucial for his development and he‘s excited about the prospect of returning to a contending Penticton team next season. “It was a great season, we had a great run and we lost to probably the best team in the country,” said the towering defenceman. “Every summer, opportunities open, but I‘ll talk to my school and see where things stand. I know (RPI) supports my decision to return to Penticton.”

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

Just spitballin' here, what if he was 100% OK physically and just wasn't playing up to par because of other issues?

I think this would have some explanation towards "healthy scratch". He was out for about 2 months or so, but played for a decent amount of time after that before being put under "healthy scratch".

As for fr joe's comment, I'm not realizing the connection of topics, if there is one. Obviously we've had two or more conversations on here before (this is a message board, after all).

Patrick Koudys took home three awards at the Cougars year end awards ceremony, he won (Top Defenseman, Most Promising Rookie and Rookie of the Year)

http://burlingtoncougars.pointstreaksites.com/view/burlingtoncougars/news-43/news_12158

Not bad. :)

BTW, did you find lists of any of other recruits' team awards? I have looked several times and never found them. (I think that I saw Penticton's, but LC didn't win any.)

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

Canada lost to Finland 5-4 today in their first game in the 3-Nations Tourney (a double round-robin). Patrick Koudys had no points or penalties. http://stats.swehockey.se/online/42/91331/91331001/91331001_frame_default.htm

Interestingly, Koudys didn't play in a defensive pair with his teammate and Clarkson recruit Luke Juha but rather with SLU recruit and former Brandon Pirri teammate Justin Baker.

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

Wicked-all true. But my discerning medical eye tells me all was not quite right with Tyler for most of this year. I hope it was all temporary and that the long off season gives him the time to get it all back together. But I have seen nagging physical problems make for some strange long lasting problems on the ice. Nothing would make me more happy than to have Helfrich flying at 100% and arriving at the puck with intent. :)
I don't discount the possibility of any of this...In any event, he'll have the summer to iron out the issues - be they physical, mental or both. If anything, the crush for playing time at forward will be even tougher next fall, so he'll best be ready to compete.

Absolutely-if everyone shows up and all are healthy-forward will not be the problem area. This will be the best crop up front that we have had in many years. I still have my reservations on defense but scoring goals shold not be the problem.:)

I think you are right about the forwards scoring goals.
The defensemen are just ok, but York makes them good.

The problem with Seth's team is the way the offense plays when they don't have the puck. They seem to lack that sense of urgency to get it back when they loose it. A little more intensity in the neutral zone is needed.
The forwards lack a little confidence and concentration in their own end. Their d-zone coverage needs work. SA will take care of that.

Good thing is they have great players. Even without any new talent this team goes to Atlantic City just by being a year older.

If you are going to treat this message board like Facebook and post random comedy bits from last year, at least provide an actual link. We all know where the YouTube homepage is.
