RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

JL is going to torch the ECAC.

I have been saying this for more years now than I want to admit. We may be getting ready to witness a tremendous career in Troy. If some of the rest of the pieces put together by SA fall into place quickly-this could be one heck of a year. Go Red!!!

The first 30-45 seconds of that would be great to play just before the team hits the ice for introductions, or after intros and just before the puck drops. It might not inspire the crowd on the south side of the building, but it would get many of the others in the arena fired up.
I would actually prefer Drowning Pool's cover of, "the Game" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MfUHAtEkGU&feature=related....

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

I would venture a guess that because Mr. Stewart is a senior officer in the league, he has a vote in what happens. Not to mention, he is responsible for assigning job duties to his subordinates (including a significant salary and travel reimbursement budget), so if I were Mr. Hagwell, I'd definitely get my senior officials' coordinator involved early in the process.

If Mr. Stewart were running the league, he would not have been fined or reprimanded for the actions of which you speak. Is there a lack of league confidence? Perhaps. Is there anyone else better to do the job? They have a point when they say that tryouts are in August. Those men (and women, although usually you only see them in a women's game) come out, giving up Fridays and weekend overtime in their day jobs, to officiate out of their love of hockey. I realize they are for hire and are not volunteer referees so there is some expectation that they do the job well, but it's something that needs to be respected.

On an unrelated note, I just received for my fortune cookie, "Pessimism never won any battle." Food for thought. :)
FDUDE I love ya man....but thats about as far off base as you've ever been....Im blaming it on a bad fortune cookie !!!!

In honor of Alex Angers-Goulet and Jill Vandegrift, today is 13 September 2011. There are 18 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 1 October for the start of next season.

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

I wonder if Mr. Pegula had a conversation with SA over the summer about the Penn St. and Rochester Amerks head coaching jobs.

Concur on PSU. Minnesota Wild also had a vacancy in AHL.

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

I guess that it wasn't Union or Clarkson. :D

Agreed, neither would want.... One program(Union) heading up, another(?) is going..... But it has only been 7 years, a school as lowly as Union could never turn it around in 7 years, right? Teams like RPI are on the 50 year plan, they think long term like Japan, not like stupid old Union and their live for the moment mentality

"Rensselaer’s combined ECAC Hockey record over the past two seasons was an unspectacular 21-18-5. They finished sixth and fifth, successively, but worse, lost a best-of-three series (each 2-1) to 11th-place Brown in 2010 and 12th-place Colgate six months ago."

This is not going to be pretty.

Does it bother you when people have success like Coach? If so, that says volumes about you. No one can deny the program is on the way up. Maybe if Coach took a shortcut and played the trap like Union, his record would reflect that but of course our Great Coach has done it the right way, knowing that you can't win in the tourney with the clutch and grab. BTW - no need to go after Ralph for making a joke. He deserves your respect for the time and hard work he puts into this thread and the recruit thread.

That wasn't pretty. I was thinking of another P word... pathetic... and hardly worth my time anymore. He's just a retarded troll, and not a very good one.

Re-read Weave's scintallanting (did I spell that right?) article. He said elite team ... Sabs and Wild don't fit that description.

You have to forgive Hokeydope... he's probably still bitter about 1985. :D

I can't wait for his next attempt at a neg rep to tell me I'm a d*** when I already know that.
