These games are awkward from a fan standpoint. You want RPI to play well and impress any of the uncommitted kids but you also want Team USA to look good so they can pound on some smug Canadians in a couple weeks. One thing's for sure: All the usual taunts should get shelved for this game. No Americans "suck."

I do believe that the "sucks" in the starting lineup intros should be shelved, but I for one will root for RPI.

BTW, I mentioned in the alum thread that Brandon Pirri was cut by Canada, so we have no need to have any rooting interest there (besides for Canadians who post here).

Edit: I haven't checked, but are there uncommitted kids on the U20 team?

Rooting in this game will be a significant waste of everyone's time. Just enjoy the moment.

Precisely-and hope we come out of this game without any significant injury but gain some more experience. I would certainly hope SA plays the kids who have gotten less ice time and rests anyone who is even remotely not feeling 100%

Toatally agree with both sentiments. Is there any chance that this game will be televised somewhere?
I won't be around for the game, but if the NHL or some other network show it, I can crank up the old DVR.

It'll be on America One (formerly known as B2) for $7.00. RPI TV is not providing our full services for this game so it'll be a one camera ordeal. I'll most likely be running the camera though, and I like to think I know what I'm doing :).

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

Some news regarding next years schedule, heard on twitter from WaP today that RPI is rumored to be heading to Ferris St. next year for a pair of games.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

23 of the 29 players on the U.S. roster have been drafted already ... the others are not eligible till the 2011 draft because of their age. 19 of the players on the roster are coming directly from a college team. Should be a great game and a great test.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

I'll root for the Junior team on the 28th, the 19th is for RPI.

I think that fills in the entire OOC scheule, and we won't be going back to LP. Has anyone been keeping track? (I did, but I don't know where the scrap of paper is. :) )

redhead had a pretty good idea of what the schedule was going to be...

At the time, it was...
2 - vs. CC
2 - @ Notre Dame
2 - UConn Classic
2 - our own tournament
2 - Lake Placid
1 - @ RIT
1 - @ Army

Not sure where the confirmation of the Notre Dame games came from. And, there's a rumor that we're headed to Niagara. I'm not sure if that's replacing Army (which was just a guess based on history) or not.

Thanks. There is also the possibility that our tourney has been taken off life support.

If thats the case, then that would just leave 2 home OoC dates for RPI next year. (Colorado College)

2- Colorado College
2- @ Notre Dame (Series was mentioned a while back on the ND thread)
2- @ Ferris St.
2- @ UConn Classic
1- @ RIT
1- @ Army or Niagara (Niagara makes more sense, since we are already traveling out to Rochester)

Which leaves 2 more possible OoC games, either the RPI tournament, Lake Placid tournament or single games against Union and a Hockey East or AHA team. If I had to take a guess Id say those last two games will be in Troy which would eliminate LP.
