I am glad Seth has finally dropped the hammer.IMO it is long over due.It should be a real wakeup call for not only the guys involved but everyone on the team.

Is this likely to be due to some misconduct, teams rules violation as the video suggested? It just seems like quite a coincidence that it has hit all 4 captains and no one else. Could the violation be simply not leading the team to win?

I too am hoping this will help RPI get on track.

They could have been doing something together that was in violation of a rule.

Long overdue? When did the violation of rules occur? Has there been a string of violations unpunished?

Sad state of affairs when you have to suspend your entire leadership group. These are intelligent young men in their 20's. At least one of them should've been able to step up and put team before short-term pleasure or whatever happened. Is there more to it than a simple violation of team rules? Too soon to panic, but Let's hope the wheels have not come off this program.

Still no game article on the Troy Record site. Had to read the Albany paper this morning to get the story on suspensions.

To clarify I didn`t mean to imply I have secret knowledge of other "team violations". I feel curadi and leonard have been playing sub par and constantly taking ill timed or unnecessary penalties all year and should have been in the stands sooner. IMO over the years there has been way too many times where player A if you will and player B aren`t held to the same standard.

The disappointment is more along the lines that the captains seemed to receive "preferential treatment" because of the letter. Take for example, the Dartmouth/Harvard debacle a couple of years ago, where the team played like absolute **** at the Dartmouth game, and the coach "sent a message" during the Harvard game by playing with a short bench. However, the captains only sat for one period, as opposed to wearing the suit in the stands.

My theory is that it had to do with a general desire to celebrate given a certain time of year, especially since they played in the Harvard game.

my guess is something to do with new years eve.

If that were true, they probably would just have been stripped of the letter.

That plus doing something stupid mixed in with it. Possibly they hosted some event that violated the team rules. It wouldn't be the first time. I've heard some stories from the Addessa years that would make some of the more righteous minded shake their heads. Of course the drinking age was 19 then and the culture was a lot more open to letting boys be boys.

Completely agree. This was the first post-game conference where there was no sugar-coating. I suspect the coach is feeling the heat. He has been lax way too long and the boys have taking advantage by not playing their tails off. There are hundreds of young aspiring hockey players who would love the chance to play D-1. If the guys on the team don't realize how fortunate they are, then they should be replaced with someone, although not necessarily as talented, much more hungry. If you can't play a full 60 minute game (which for most is less than 20 minutes of real ice time), then you shouldn't be playing at all.

All of this is guessing and speculation. Let's wait to see if the truth comes out.

There are two separate issues being discussed here. A good coach doesn't suspend his captains for poor play, so it is reasonable to believe that they did something significant. Speculation about a party or drinking binge is not going to help. We simply don't know what happened. The coach appears to be trying to get everyone to buy into what he is trying to accomplish. It seems that some have gone off the trail.

They probably should be stripped of the letter(s) anyway. They made Bradley the captain last night so he could be made the permanent captain and Laliberte (being the only senior not suspended) should be the assistant.

If they're suspended, then losing the letter is an obvious one. Travis Fulton should still get a serious look at a letter, even if merely on the basis of the effort he gives on the ice night in and night out, even when the team is playing horribly.
