I've enjoyed sharing this run with Beman and S8thepond. It's nice to see you guys not only comment when things aren't going well but also being positive when events warrant them. Thanks for being there not only in the bad but the good times.

There hasn't been so much as a peep out of the few that used to come here just to flame since we started this decent run. Maybe the bandwagon that all of us have been on accidentally ran over them?

I would love to see a replay of last night-I had 2 eyewitnesses at Starr tell me it was Luke's goal and it went in untouched by any one else. Would have been nice for the big guy. He has come a long way this year and in my mind at least, silenced the few critics that floated onto the thread at times.

Perry Laskaris throught so also. Me, I was only listening, and I think that I lost my internet connection at that time.

Ralph: i was watching-the video quality was poor and there was no really good replay. But it sure looked like it went straight in. Miller was obscuring the goal but i just do not think his stick touched it. I had two people who were at the game-one in very good position to see, one further away. But they both agreed-it seemed to be Luke's first goal as an RPI player. Not a mjor deal-we won and it counted. But i would have loved for him to get one and for his goal to have started the comeback.

I was sitting behind the goal and thats what it looked like to me as well.

I would think that Miller would have have told the powers that be that it wasn't his goal if he felt that he didn't touch it.

I had the best angle on it. It was a one-hopper which caused that change in direction, but I did not see a single stick other than Luke's touch it. It was a straight one-timer.

I don't think it is always so easy to know if you just barely tipped a puck coming in at 85+ mph.

If you were at that end of the ice-then that clinches it for me.

I guess we'll never know. I thought I had a pretty good angle on it and it definitely looked like it changed direction. I asked Mark about it after the game. He said he thought it hit hime but couldn't be sure.

Thanks for the extra information-that indecisiveness about a deflection is enough to tell me-this one should be on the scoresheet for #5:)

With the RPI club season over, has there been any new news about Sanford from the club team coming up? I'm a student at RPI and would enjoy the games a bit more to see a guy his size on the ice trucking around.

I highly doubt with 2 games left in the regular season,as the team is trying to get the highest seeding for the playoffs they can and getting the chemistry.mindset and style they need to do well in the playoffs, they would consider bringing a guy up from the club team at this point.

No, haven't heard anything, and even if he "came up," I doubt he would see much playing time, if any at all. The RPI club team is not a feeder system for the varsity.

The guy's 6'9" and played in the AJHL. It's not like he's just some scrub.

I'm sure if he ever plays varsity, it won't be this year. If he played next year, he'd have four years of varsity time available to him.

I've seen him around campus and he's for sure got some good size. Next time I run into him I'll have to ask him what his plans are.

Aspy _ for the avoidance of doubt, I'll respond to this as after a couple of the game I was fairly vocal in just letting the kids play and not overcoaching / overburdening them with system...and to change the power play format. The only game that I have been able to attend recently was the Yale game, and I thought that we looked really good, but didnt post as that was the first game I had the ability to attend in quite some time. From that game, I do see some significant changes that I like, but cant comment on the reason or rationale for them (may be related to some of the injuries that we have and needing to reshuffle people into the lineup and then the lines). Full strength, I absolutely love the line of Rogic-Fulton-Milller. Just all speed and as fast as any line in all of D-1. They all have wheels and go hard, every shift. I'm also loving having Diesel and Bubela together. In fact, I think the play of the game against Yale was that line and Bubela battling 2 guys in the corner by the zamboni doors and using body and position to come out of the corner with the puck for the score (I think Z scored). It was an intensity and battle and commitment play. I think Matt Neal is playing exceptionally well. JL's cross ice feed for the Bailen goal was world class. Its surprising how poised we are in goal. What I thought was going to be our biggest consideration at the beginning of the season - defense -has just continues to get stronger and are as good a defensive set as anyone in the league. The BRO has come a long way, and I'm loving Bradley. All of them (Beef, Dolan...). Best yet - they are playing together and for one another, and having fun. You can see it in their play and during the warmups. I'm very happy for them as I have always thought this to be a group of fantastic kids. Oh - and we are now getting that 3rd goal a game or more that we were not earlier in the year. Its all coming together at the right time for these kids and this team. The rest of the season is going to be pretty exciting....
