Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

A very good weekend. Any time you get four points no matter who the opponent is, is a good weekend.
I thought that we played well for periods of time in each game. Still no 60 minute effort.
Got Kasdorf in a game and he showed that he can play. He also said he was nervous, so maybe he can put that behind him when he gets to play league games.
Miller got his first goal, and I always like to see freshmen score early to get that monkey off their back.
The best part of the weekend, was outplaying a team in the third period to put a game away. That is the first really good third period we have played this year.
Now we have two weeks to build on that and come out with a better attitude when we get back on the ice.

Lets go red!!!!!

I would-some of these young ladies are not very unpleasant to look at. Over the years there have been a number of ladies on the team that i would not mind being in the locker room with.:)

Remind me, whenever we meet, to tell the full story about when I played on a semi-pro team in Germany for a year (team was the junior team for the Frankurt Lions who are now defunct). Its what I have described as "girls night at hockey", where a number of the women from the athletic club sponsor showed up for a practice and thought nothing of using the men's locker room to dress and undress.....and shower with all the boys !! I thought I was on candid camera such was my disbelief. Truly a story you couldnt make up, even if you tried.

Lets hope Seth is turning this thing around. He did a good job at the end of last season lets hope we don't have to wait that long. I'd go with the freshman goalie. Despite what Seth says there is a reason that the now defunct NHL drafted him.

I have always been more attracted to athletic women-there are times that I get completely hypnotized watching the women in the Olympics (although I despise the sport I can ogle Rhythmic Gymnastics until my eyes cloud over). Perhaps because I am aging but it just appears to me that our young ladies on the hockey team just get better looking all the time. We always had a couple that would catch my eye but it is just getting more obvious.:)

Senna-I will counter your story when we meet about the year I had to be the medical support for the National Rifle Matches held at Camp Perry Ohio(as part of my Army Reserve commitment). I did not want to go figuring i would be tending to a bunch of redneck unwashed crackers with their gunracks on the truck. Turned out it was the women's and girl's shooting teams from Tennessee(and they do not have any ugly girls in Tennessee), Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia(ages 16-25). I was in southern honey heaven for 2 weeks. Needless to say I enjoyed myself immensely-but was very much younger in those days.

I am amazed that the article didn't identify him as the RPI hockey coach.

I'm not. Steve Barnes is not the kind of person I would expect to know something like that.

Apparently our (great) coach's hair has gained sentience and opened a twitter account. Link

Insiders are well aware that Seth's hair gained sentience when he was still in Denver.

I have it on Beta tape from my old BetaMax-2 versions. One edited by ESPN which cuts out much of the first OT.And a second complete version which I had transferred to DVD. If you think it was great watching the video-you should have seen it live with a full house at Joe Louis Arena. Incredible game but i must admit as it continued i never thought we could tie it up late and then win it.

I probably mentioned this before, but a former coworker transferred my Betamax tape to DVD, but cut off the end of the game from sometime in the 3rd OT to the end missing Carter's goal. :( He claimed the end wasn't there, but it certainly was.

Ralph: For years I kept the 2 versions I had on Beta. I had friends do the taping off TV here in NJ while Jenny and I were in Detroit. I waited until I found a fellow locally I could trust to make the transfer without destroying the tapes. I still kept the tapes-we have all our old Betamax machines in the garage in boxes. Amazingly-they all work well when last tested. Compared to current HD technology, the video really suffers.

Ok - got me as my eyes just rolled into the back of my head at the thought. Will say thought that you probably were not exposed to the "personal grooming habits" of the aforementioned ladies, nor aware of who if any chose "commando" as an option (all in my case....). :D:eek:

No kidding... I remember senior year going to a few games with the pep band, and thinking to myself, "Wow, there isn't a single girl on this team I don't want..."

Want to what? Bet you were quite the ladies man at RPI....come to think of it, this video sums it up perfectly.

BTW, CJ Lee was standing behind the bench during at least the third period-I didn't notice him earlier, but he could have been there the entire game. Nice to see.

Pretty sure he was behind the bench the entire night. And for those who keep track of suit colors for our coaches and or players standing behind the bench, CJ was wearing a TAN suit.....dun dun dun

I was totally unprepared for the 2 week tour of duty. I expected to be dealing with the medical problems of a bunch of middle aged men who had perhaps 15 teeth between them. Instead it was all young ladies with menstrual complaints and most of them could have been in whatever your favorite men's magazine was at the time-Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, etc. And back then I was not married and I was never very shy.:) One of the highlight episodes of my life.
