Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

I'm so nauseated by the weekend, I'm going to keep this brief and then likely will simply lurk the rest of the week. My head will explode if I am forced to regurgitate the events of the weekend. My thoughts, as simple and brief as I am able.... (repeated for emphasis):

You cannot beat Union when you are in the box half the night.
You cannot beat Union when you are in the box half the night.
You cannot beat Union when you are in the box half the night.

Lather, rinse and repeat.

Doc -- So VERY glad to hear you, Jennie and the animals are OK !!! Having seen coverage of the damage in your area, I was worried. Thanks for checking in. By the way, you missed a VERY good weekend not to have power. Uggh.

Ralph filled me in and warned me not to even read through the score threads. We are fine. Some tension and some inconvenience but we are both old school. You do whatever is necessary and you prepare best you can. I will say this though-I will never ever live without a fireplace and i will never ever do without one landline phone.

Union barn is a joke
Idiots left Zamboni door open whole second period
It was nice to meet 1 of without a peer bloggers
5-5 we can play with any team I believe
Schroeder has a fractured wrist bad news

refs are bad and it's not gonna get better
Play kasdorf, this better not be Lange over York round 2
We need assistant captains if our captains going 10 min misc every game
Good dinner at Katie obyrnes after game
OK. I'm going to say this one time and one time only. DO NOT, and I repeat DOOOOO NOOOOT, EVER report something about a player's health that you think you know. #1...it's probably wrong. #2...if you happen to be a blind squirrel with a nut, don't go and tell the blogosphere what's wrong with a player; you paint a target on his back. Shut your mouth when you don't have the facts. He's not hurt but you painted his wrist with a laser...incoming.

Babo, I know we may go after people that post misinformation, but one thing I've learned about rvd5star69 is that, despite the rep and questionable English language conventions, he's hardly wrong when it comes to content.

Back from the contest; sounds like I picked a good game to miss.

Sorry but have to side with Babo on this one. Especially, since I did not see him miss a shift Sat. Therefore, he now may be at risk if other teams coaches or such read this crap and go after him.

Since Dr. D didn't get in the weekly football report, RPI lost to Springfield, 42-21. The Engineers took the lead on three different occasions in the first half and were still within seven points with three minutes to play before two late touchdowns put Springfield up by the final margin.

Looks like RPI will have their hands full in the Dutchman's Shoes game this weekend. Union rolled over Kings Point on Saturday, 51-7.

Soooooo good to hear that Doc and Jenny weathered the storm out. Had us worried for awhile !

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

he's hardly wrong when it comes to content.

All the more reason for him to not be posting information about injuries to our players. Let the coaches release any injury information to the public. For a fan to be posting injury information about players' injuries does, as babo said, little more than put a target on that player and the supposed injury site.

Go back and thoroughly read what I wrote...if you do, this statement makes NO sense.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

Just read through the score threads from this weekend (hockey > studying)-nice job on Friday Ralph and FlagDUDE! Couple comments: Yes, Luke dyed his mustache. No, Coach wasn't wearing the tan suit on Friday-I checked, since it hadn't made an appearance yet this season. However, he WAS wearing it on Saturday.

Back to prop sys...

The team did not have any power either. :(

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

I finally calmed down enough after Saturday's game to read Ed Weaver's article. Granted that Weaver has been known to make an error or two, but he did wrote "Sophomore winger Zach Schroeder has a wrist injury but played through it on Saturday and will likely play this weekend." No use of the word "fracture," but there was apparently an injury.

Weaver also wrote that O'Grady might play.

His suit on Saturday was gray. Don't go filling their heads with lies, RED.

You must spread some Reputation around...

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

Getting very frustrated with this team and this league. I just want some consistency from both, preferably swung in the positive direction. I also want Merriam to... not be in net. I get frustrated whenever he's scored against because he seems to suddenly go into mental breakdown mode and let in every puck that goes toward the net. We need to play Kasdorf more and see what he can do. I don't want this to be a Lange/York situation again, where the pick on who starts seems to be more based on seniority than ability.

I won't comment on the Curadi penalty, as that's been beaten to death by both camps of fans at this point.

Both teams were very childish Saturday night and I was disgusted with the play of both.

That is all.
