I hope/expect that our great coaches will be using their time effectively and will be stopping in to watch a few Minny HS recruits we are no doubt recruiting.

Unfortunately Minnesota is still in football season.

Funny that you mentioned that, as I was recently looking into that. The Minnesota HS teams don't start until late November. The Elite League however is still on going.

Edit: As RC stated.

I'm certain that they have 'before and after' teams that are basically mirror images of the HS teams, or at least very similar in make up, that could be scouted.

McGowan must be dinged up, he's not the first guy I'dve sat.

SA made it sound like he had a few boys with minor dings-if so it is smart to rest them as we have a weekend off coming up. Not to take anything lightly but let's face it-Union is a much tougher weekend and it counts as league games. Of course i want the best out there every night-but some nights are indeed more important than others.

If there is such a thing as a bad tie that was it !!!

I think it will depend on how they react to this tomorrow. Listening to the game, they were in control throughout until the final ten minutes of the third. If they learn from this that hockey games are in fact sixty minutes, I won't get too hung up on the tie. But a good tie it definitely was not. And that Neal/Laliberte/Haggerty line, wow.

We have not had a lot of experience leading in the third period now for several years. Especially on th eroad with a hostile crowd and the advantages of last match up it is never the same as it is at home. We will find out in about 14 hours what this team is made of early in the season. Yesterday certainly has to be disheartening-but we did not los-we played the remainder of the third and 5 minutes of OT and did not give up what would have been an even more heartbreaking goal. I would expect SA to make a few tweaks again tonight-move a few fellows around and perhaps play one or two different players. The changes made for yesterday-well let's just say that last week the lines had better rapport. I expect we see Merriam in goal tonight and perhaps one or 2 changes in forward lines. I must say though that the Neal/LaLiberte/Haggerty line looks like the one that everyone playing us will have to concentrate on. Gut check time tonight-imperative to start well. That was a physical game last night and we have to maintain focus and head back home on a higher note.

For the third game, Diebold spots the other team a goal right away, and this time, it costs us a point. If he does that in the ECAC, it will cost us two. I'm not going to keep all the blame squarely on him because there's 18 other people that had a hand in allowing the other goals, but I'm sure Coach will be addressing that over the next two weeks.
