A great hire for RPI - and what feels like the first moment of significant, genuine optimism for the program in some time.
Will be interesting to see how Lang navigates the opportunities in the portal and CHL in the context of RPI's academics and admissions standards. It's a real change of direction, and requires operating at real pace, for an institute that is not known for its agility or flexibility in recent years. But even some progress would be really positive.
For those closer to what's happening in Troy, would love to know if there's any further chatter about other investment to support the program. I have to imagine Lang would not have taken the job if it didn't feel like RPI was committed to elevating it. Thinking about day-to-day things as much as a big Field House renovation.
