RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

Football final RPI 31 Rochester 3 and it should have not been that close. We had several chances to roll up the score and just were not able to convert on a few chances. The defense was absolutely suffocating and we are now 3-1 heading up to the most difficult road game of the season next week at Hobart.

RPI Men's ACHA hockey beat Union tonight by a final score of 9-0. That brings their opening weekend total to 23 goals scored. 4 goals given up. If this is what our club team can do, imagine what our D1 team can do.

In honor of Naomi Forand, today is 28 September 2025. There are 7 days (1 week) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2025 for the start of next season.

In honor of Thomas Klassek and Sophia Jones, today is 29 September 2025. There are 6 days until RPI's next game.

Back in the salad days, I never heard anyone complain, or thought about why the seats are red and blue. Let’s focus on the team play first.
Fair, but I think the seat color talk was the symptom of a generally substandard facility (the result of deferred maintenance finally coming due) and no public information about renovations/replacement. HFH has true character but the school only funded the bare minimum upkeep; now the previously idiosyncratic features have devolved into a problem from neglect. Painting the seats was a thought around a relatively cheap spruce-up to show some intention while RPI planned a more substantial project.

Early odds for next weekend - Football we are a 2.5 point underdog at Hobart (not surprising as they have a very good team in spite of having suffered 3 losses already). Girls hockey we are a 2.5 goal favorite against Sacred Heart ( I had to check that several times since i had trouble believing it with our 0-4 record). As best i can tell for Boys hockey we are a 3.5 goal underdog to BU but it is notoriously difficult getting reliable numbers for exhibition games.

3.5 goal underdog? Doc they must think Dave smith is still the head coach. Lol

To be fair, BU is one of the pre-season favorites for the national title. But not sure Exhibition matches are any kind of barometer these days.
Exactly - with all their draft picks, if BU plays their top dogs for 60 minutes it is almost like playing an NHL team. But it is ludicrous to look at odds for these types of exhibition games since one never knows who is going to play and for how long. I am not even sure what the rules allow for these games. I do think 3.5 goals is a massive underdog and rarely do we get to see that kind of spread. i look forward simply to see what we look like on the ice against on e of the premier teams. Could care less about the score but just trying to get an idea of what sort of talent we will be putting out there for the games that count.

Supposedly, Sundays' exhibition game is on ESPN+ according to the BU website. If so, enjoy or maybe not so!!! This outfit looks like a bunch of future NHL guys.

In honor of Kazimier Sobieski, today is 30 September 2025. There are 5 days until RPI's next game.

No sir. From 1978 and on, they’ve always been blue and red. They even matched the “premium” seats, to the existing color that was there.

Exactly right ! If they start winning games there will be fannies in the aforementioned seats and the color will be irrelevant !! GO RED

The team picture has been posted on the roster page. The numbers on the front certainly helps identify new players.

Ok....so call me crazy, but if you look at the players in the back row, several of their heads appear to have lighting "halos" around them and lighting levels differ from one face to another (some lighting levels are dimmer, some brighter) ....Is it me or does this appear to be a Kardashian level photo shop ?

Jovanovic looks bigger than listed. If he can develop anywhere near what he was projected to be pre-injury he could be a scary player for us. Lindberg, on the other hand, looks smaller than his 6' listing.

Perhaps some of the pictures were taken looking in the right sided rear view mirror??
