That joke worked better before they put blind spot monitors on modern cars.............Perhaps some of the pictures were taken looking in the right sided rear view mirror??

Some is from the back lighting from the windows. I always felt the lighting was never fully equal on the iceOk....so call me crazy, but if you look at the players in the back row, several of their heads appear to have lighting "halos" around them and lighting levels differ from one face to another (some lighting levels are dimmer, some brighter) ....Is it me or does this appear to be a Kardashian level photo shop ?
When Smith got his extension, they were coming off of 19-20 and a good 21-22 year being a game away from Lake Placid. At least he showed signs of life. Vines best year is 18-19 when they finished 8th in the league getting carried by Selander with a 0.941 SV%, and they wasted that year by scoring 1.33 goals per game. Crazy that he's being held to such a different standard than the men's programSomehow this slipped past my radar until a friend pointed out that Vines was awarded a "Multi-year contract extension". Holy heck...
Can someone , anyone please explain to me why a coach who's resume includes somehow, miraculously surviving "leading" the squad through an 0-33 season and a glowing career winning percentage that is what, 320 ??? is granted a multi-year extension? (Oh, and he's rewarded the school by getting the team off to a an 0-4 start this year by the way....)
At what point do your on-ice results factor into your coaching job status at RPI ? I keep trying to give this A.D. a chance, but honestly don't know how anyone expects me to take her seriously....... I am at a loss. This is somehow worse than the extension they gifted to Smitty.

RPI Athletics Announces Multi-Year Contract Extension for Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach Bryan Vines - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Athletics

Exactly right. I don' get it, and it certainly doesn't give me the warm and fuzzy for the A.D. As a Union player told Ken Scott when they were coming off of their ugly 0-33 season...."...if this were the men's team, they wouldn't put up with it.." And shortly thereafter the coach was a goner...When Smith got his extension, they were coming off of 19-20 and a good 21-22 year being a game away from Lake Placid. At least he showed signs of life. Just for comparison sake. The previous women's coach's record over 12 years was 144-217-49 for a winning percent of 411 (better by about 90 points). What did that coach get??? Canned by an Athletic Director emeritus!!! Based on an "analysis" of the data available, cannot answer your question of at what point do your on ice results factor into your coaching job status at RPI. Not calling for 320 to get canned at all, but, after 411 actually getting canned??? As the robot on Lost In Space used to say "it does not compute"Somehow this slipped past my radar until a friend pointed out that Vines was awarded a "Multi-year contract extension". Holy heck...

There’s really only two options, IMO. Either leave the game thread the way it is or start a brand new one. Since there doesn’t seem to be any “great clamoring for change”, we might as well keep things the way they are. There did not seem to be a great clamoring for a change in the way game thread scoring is done. So I will leave things alone. Games won in regulation or OT will be worth two points, and shootouts will count as 1-point ties. Threads can be started after midnight. Winners will have to start the next thread.
Last-minute input?
Incredible work with more detail than I have ever seen. With so much changed this year at RPI, in the ECAC, and in the NCAA overall - Will be using this preview as a template for most of the season to follow along with the progress of the entire league. Nothing to disagree with as i know little about most of the new names listed as transfers and incoming freshmen. I am hopeful that our boys can use the depth described on offense along with better communicative play on defense to rise above the prediction to be competitive for an 8th place finish. Even being the eternal optimist tells me that would be our ceiling for this first year of the new coaching reign. Big thanks to Sez for all the work and discussion. Now I think I am finally ready to start this season so - Let's Go Red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My ECAC preview is out now. Worked pretty hard on it and wrote a lot. Hope you all enjoy!

What's Quinnipiac's ceiling? Which teams are due for a rise up the standings? Who could surprise?www.rpifieldhouse.com
Nice job! I agree with everything except I think we jump SLU and Princeton. I think our defense will be much improved. Can’t wait for the season to start! My ECAC preview is out now. Worked pretty hard on it and wrote a lot. Hope you all enjoy!

I only mentioned players that the model had as key newcomers, and since he hasn't played in 4 years, the model doesn't view him as adding anything. The post was already really long, so I can't mention every player for every team. He'll be mentioned in RPI specific postsReally great.
You didn't mention our new player with IMO the highest upside and the lowest downside, namely Matt Jovanovic. Comments about the omission?
I think the defense is really young and inexperienced, as is the goaltendingNice job! I agree with everything except I think we jump SLU and Princeton. I think our defense will be much improved. Can’t wait for the season to start!
Overall great work!!! However, there is one thing that I am just not getting. My ECAC preview is out now. Worked pretty hard on it and wrote a lot. Hope you all enjoy!
