The 10/5 preseason game is no longer on the schedule.

Wonder if they might replace it with an intra squad scrimmage of some sort?

I take most of the predictions rather lightly. They are usually based on the results of last year and sometimes influenced by. the traditional results of the program. Last year we had perhaps the most difficult schedule in man years and most of us felt that we were going to be fortunate to come out of the fist ten games with anything more than one or two victories. This year the early part of the program looks entirely different and we should know a bit more about how we compare to last year after only a few games. If we do not have a far better record after the first 10 games then perhaps he might even have us over rated. But my guess (and of course it is only a guess) is that we might be a .500 team at that stage. This team has some talent and if only we learn how to be a much better on special teams (especially defensively) then we could see a considerable difference form a year ago.

Predictions are only guesses. What does 54 mean anyway?
We have no idea what this team will bring. And we won't know until they drop the puck.
We have much to improve on, and I believe that we will improve, but how much, no one knows.
Lets just watch the games and see where we stand at the end of the season
 
I am looking forward to this season, as I do every year! I am sure we will improve! The sky is the limit. You never know what will happen. I am very hopeful. I can’t wait to watch the newcomers, as well as some of my favorite players I like to watch. I am excited to see an improvement with some new players. I am also looking forward to hearing the Pep-band. I hope they get more players to join, because they are fun to listen too, and they can get the crowd going. Bonus this year- I can drink a beer if I want it. So cheers RPI fans- Go Red! Give this team a chance, before you start trashing it!
