Point was to get behind our team and celebrate wins, not just criticize losses. Not sure why you call yourself a fan if your only agenda is to critique.

My brother has done more for this program than you'll ever know. Just because he has eyes to see the trajectory of what is happening and says something about it please don't call into question his loyalty to the program.

The extra attacker play was great. Had they played more like that we would have won. Miller played a solid game as well. Put the team in a position to win.

Does anyone here know why Watson didn't play last night. Miller looked hurt in the 3rd and when I made a comment and also wondered why Watson wasn't in goal a woman sitting near me said he had had surgery. I assume that is incorrect...

Not sure why he didn’t play? I was thinking whatever illness was going around the team?
Jesus Christ I certainly hope not. If Miller is out that would leave us in dire straits at the goalie position. I agree I think that’s incorrect. My question is where is the band? Did they retire early or something? It’s been damn near October since I’ve seen them?

I was thinking the same thing. They were in attendance for the Union game and have missed every single game since then.

Not there for NU during Thanksgiving (understandable)
Not there for quinnipiac and princeton weekend
Not there for mankato weekend
And now not there for this weekend? Wtf is up with that?

No Puckman either. Could the band/students still be on break?

It’s crazy we’re approaching damn near half the season with no band. Very odd

I believe that classes start again on Monday which means we should have the students and the band back for next weekend.

After 12 years of living in Cali I am back in Upstate and just geting back into Engineer hockey. Good win tonight, despite being outshot and it seems Watson really was the difference-maker with 21 saves in the third period alone. Hopefully Watson starts the rest of the games on the ECAC string to give the lads a chance. Go RPI!

Times-Union write up on weekend games. Coach has been pleased with the week of practice, but the team is not at full strength. " We’ve got a couple guys banged up and an illness going around but we’re ready to go.”

https://www.timesunion.com/sports/a...729.php?IPID=Times-Union-Capital-Region-river

It turns out there were 8 or 9 guys dealing with the flu. Saw a lot of guys taking extra fluids during breaks on Friday. Did well to stay in the games this weekend and glad they were rewarded tonight. Next weekend is big and hopefully the bug is out of the team by then.

The band was again replaced by a DJ on the PA cranking the same sad tunes at a deafening decibel level. It is an embarrassment that the sound is so loud.

Important games this weekend if we are going to make any headway in the ECAC. Both teams have two games in hand against us so it is important to get points against both of them.
Any chance we get our sick and injured players back for the weekend?
We will need everyone on the ice for these games.

Heard Smitty today on 104.5 (i guess the new "regular" time is 11:15ish on Tuesdays).

He mentioned there were 7 players last week who down with the flu and/or injury. Watson was one of them, but rallied to play on Saturday. Not much in the way of hockey insight aside from the obvious that we owe SLU for having imploded at their place earlier and Clarkson's only league loss so far was to RPI, so they'll be motivated to return the favor.

As it turns out, Bowers did appear on the show last week ( i don't know when). Wyland indicate that she'll be a semi-regular monthly guest to discuss RPI athletics.

Where can you find the interviews with wyland? I’m looking on 104.5 website and theirs nothing except old interviews? The games this weekend will be hard fought.

I don't believe they store them for replay. They did in the past, but I haven't found them on the site....

Me neither. Too bad--local radio these days is really a skeleton crew of staffing and there's probably not someone to upload to website. I was hoping that 104.5 would get creative like stations elsewhere and simulcast on YouTube (which seems to store segments automatically), but no luck.

A good friend reminded me that the TV voice of the Engineers is Dan Bahl, whose day job is Program Dir. and drive time host on 104.5FM...if anyone knows him, perhaps that could place a bug in his ear.....just a thought !

Good point. Utterly ridiculous that he works at the station as program director and nowhere can you find Dave smith interviews with wyland? Clown car

Bump back to page one... St. Lawrence is coming off of a 5-1 loss to Canisius and a 1-1 tie vs. a good RIT team last weekend. RPI shouldn't need any motivation against the Larries tonight following the bed wetting that occurred in Canton earlier in the year. They are not shy about throwing the body around and are fond of "agitating" shall we say.....ha ha. I expect a physical game tonight. Offensively, Gavars leads them --he is very good at both ends. He played for Latvia in the WJCs.
