RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

Re: RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

I agree whole-heartedly about the "deserves" part, DD.

For some reason I am hearing a faint voice singing "you don't always get what you want, you get what you need." though who and how that "need" is determined remains unanswered, both in the song and in life, eh?

Or to quote from a famous book whose title i can't remember right now, "so it goes."
Billy Pilgrim would be proud. One day I hope to go to Dresden to see how bad it all really was. I thought I read somewhere that the Germans were trying to restore the city to its original splendor. I'll bet Ralph knows something about all of this.

Mick might not be so happy though - it's can't, not don't, and you left out the "but if you try some time you just might find" in the middle of it all. A fitting song since he mentions cherry red in it.

i have never been to Dresden. :)

Now I have to figure out how this thread got to this point. :D

“And Lot's wife, of course, was told not to look back where all those people and their homes had been. But she did look back, and I love her for that, because it was so human. So she was turned into a pillar of salt. So it goes.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five
I have seen that pillar of salt near the Dead Sea. :)

Minnesota is perfectly capable of a 3rd period comeback, as we are unfortunately well aware.

We were doing the same to Brown in the 2nd game of this past series until Burgdoerfer scored with about 8 seconds left in the 2nd game and decided to be a punk and salute the Brown bench. I think that woke them up and it showed in the 1st period of Sunday's game. I know a lot of people on here feel we out played Brown in the first period especially because of the difference in shots on goal. I was at the game and I saw a team that came out flat just like on Friday night. They were confused on defense and did not have seem to have the "were hungry" to win this game attitude they did in the 2nd game. They did have a lot of chances that we did not have the "puck luck" as we were seeing. I even asked a friend sitting next to me after Burgdoerfer's rush on net didn't go in if there was a piece of glass going across the goal line that I could not see from my seat. In my eyes they did not seem to dominate the game until late in the 2nd and the 3rd period. Unfortunately the damage had already been done and we were not able to get the equalizer in the 3rd.

I would love to see this team play again this year and how they would respond to that last game. Will wait and see what happens on Sunday.
I certainly didn't like Burger's salute, but it was a guttural reaction to Bailen having been cheap-shotted and injured due to a flagrant leg check that went uncalled...If you saw how ferocious Eric was in the moments leading up to that goal, you'd realize that his salute was pure adrenaline. Again, I didn't like the salute then...still don't.... but Brown didn't need any waking up -- they were wide awake from Friday night on. Once they took the lead in game 3, they parked three guys on the blueline...which pretty much sealed our fate.

I seem to recall a TV news anthology show that the sign off was "and so it goes". But I understand your sentiment. We do often agree.

Edit: It was Linda Ellerbee's sign off expression.

You mean Greg? ;)

At least I'm not the only one that was overtly ****ed by the hit.
