RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

I was being conservative and just rounding it off-I too feel that you have to go back to 1995 at least and perhaps 1982. You know how high I am on JL and Neal-I still think the LMN trio will be the basis of a wonderful 4 year run for us.

Keep in mind that this ignores Haggerty and Schroeder, either of which would have been among our top 2 or 3 most high potential (non-goalie) recruits since Murley & Cavosie. Not pointing this out as a criticism, but rather lauding just how incredibly deep this class is.

I will say, I do think that you're expecting a bit much out of McGowan, DrD. I'll be surprised if, in his freshman year, he does anything more than Tinordi or Burgdoerfer has done this year.

I agree with you completely. I think that we will have to wait until Zalewski (assuming his concussion isn't a permanent problem) to have a big man who will play regularly at forward. Then again, I would like to be surprised about McGowan.

Edit: I don't think that Haggerty and Schroeder are among our top 2 or 3 most high potential (non-goalie) recruits since Murley & Cavosie. Top five probably. I think that Pirri and D'Amigo are definitely higher potential, and there are other possbilities, e.g. Koudys, Bergin, Polacek.

KN-I just like the sound of LMN. I agree that the M part of the equation will need some maturation. But i just love to think some kids are natural scorers and can get points at whatever level they play. BTW-I think Tinordi will still turn out to be a most pleasant surprise. I love the way he hits and people seem to bounce off him.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Current medical thiking is to be extremelly conservative with concussions-but this is indeed starting to be a long time. I wonder what the extent of injury was? What class of concussion he had? and most of all-was this the first instance or does he have a past history of them since they are now thought to be additive.

M will be 21 when he enters RPI -- what you see will probably be what you will get. I have more hope for Tinordi.

Remember that Vernon had a bye in the playoffs. He could have been ready for a couple of weeks. I do agree that he has been out for a long time.
