Re: RPI 2011-12 Season: Posts on a Message Board

Of course I realize most of you are already looking at the ECAC in the rearview mirror. :(

Anyone who is doing this is putting the cart before the horse. RPI fans need to understand that we are not the ones being courted here, we are simply the logical plug-in for #12. If that's what it takes to run with the big dogs, then so be it, but this whole thing is not about us and will completely vanish if Notre Dame takes a different course of action.

This, ultimately, is why SA and JK said what they said to Schott on media day - there's no reason to burn bridges with the ECAC, this could well be our happy home for years to come. And that would be OK.

Whaaaaaaat ! are you talking about...PK has all the tools to go as far as He wishes....further more he has no glaring deficiencies in either his physical abilities or his talent level (including skating)....Is He at Nick Lidstroms level yet I say not but He has 20+ years to get to that point...so there is no basis for what you said !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

....another hockey expert. Don't let your love and passion for PK fog up your glasses!:)

Hate to disagree with you but it is 3/4 who post 99.9% of the posts. Period

You are a very good contributor and write stuff RPI fans want to read. Did you notice the same 2/3 who took over the Hockey east thread and also try to take over the Union threads. Patronizing away to both

RPI is a very good program, a program that has limited if any success over past 25 years. If on the rise is 5th and 6th with immedioate first rd losses to lowest seeded team in league, than what is MC? The new BC? RPI is not on the rise until they win, period.

Union is on the rise. Out of total ashes, won the regular season crown and made the NCAA tourn for first time ever. Will be higher in league every year for the next several years.

When RPI wins, than they are on the rise. 6th to 5th and first rd loss to last placed team is not a RISE. Than losing first ncaa game 6-0 after backing in is not on the rise

Last year RPI was ranked around 15th in NCAA at end. They are starting out around 18 in polls, apparently the coaches etc dont see the rise. Union is ranked 11th...

I am saving your exact post quotes. At the end of four years, we'll see how much of a Nostradamus you really are. For now, you need to work on your grammar.

I agree with tb. I believe that PK is best talent on blue line for the Cherry and White since Hammond. This kid is going to be good. Protoypical pro-Dman.

Question for Ralph or FDude. What is SA's overall record against Hockey East opponents?

Dead on. A lot of us, myself included, would really like to see the program move to Hockey East. We say we want championships....well, start playing in the abnsolute best league possible. The fact of the matter is though is that we are along for the ride here and tht our move is dependent upon a whole series of other things falling in to place.

Question for Ralph or FDude. What is SA's overall record against Hockey East opponents?

With RPI:
10-11: 1-0-1
09-10: 2-1-0
08-09: 0-5-0
07-08: 0-2-0
06-07: 2-1-1

Total with RPI: 5-9-2

When did he start coaching at Denver? Or would you like to count when he was an assistant?

Until you win your current league on a consistent basis, why look to move? If you do move to HEA, where will you get the recruits to compete with the Beasts of Commonwealth Ave.?

Absolutely right, on all counts.
Lots of positives about ECAC to go along with the negatives. Hockey East would also be an interesting place to be, but you never know how it will all turn out until well after you actually make the move.
Right now, the status quo looks pretty good.

unlike you, I dont proof read and care about the grammar. just posting points.

Union is on the rise and will be the stronger program over the nex 3/4 years.

RPI would be a u mass at best program in HE living off success over 25 years ago is not a program on the rise. Like he said, "win your league on a consistant basis first"

Win it, they cant get out of the first rd, losing to worst team in league two straight years and worst relative performance

Don't tell anyone, but we already are.

You're already changing your story. First claiming Union will always be better than RPI for the next 4 years, and now deciding to play the odds and say 3 out of 4. If you have nothing better to do with your time other than to tell us that we suck, given your loyalties towards Providence, I would say that you are also living in the past. Learn how to spell, and then get a life.

18th is better than not ranked, which is where 30 something other teams are. On the rise means better than before, and that is certainly true of RPI. Union has made great strides, but let's see how they do without Nate Leaman. The loss of Kinkaid will also hurt them in the short term. If Rick Bennett can continue to recurit solid players and make them better, then Union will remain in the top 1/4 of the ECAC. If he can't help players improve the way they did when Leaman was there, they will drop quickly.

I might get lucky. Of course, I might also pick a roulette number correctly twice in a row with one chip in play.

Had that happen this past weekend at AC. Jenny pcked the same number twice and it won-of course did not even come close to making up what I had previously lost. I hope to do much better in March when we are there watching our boys in the ECAC playoffs.:)

you are the clown who has patronized Union over and over again. If you want, I will copy and paste your past posts slamming them behind their back. Telling us how they have zero good players, will never win a tournament game etc. But I am sure your grammar was very strong

Union is on the rise, RPI is not

2011 ECAC Tournament
First Round:

No. 12 Colgate(last place) at No. 5 Rensselaer (Colgate wins series, 2-1)

2010 ECAC Tournament
First round
No. 11 Brown(next to last) at No. 6 Rensselaer (Brown wins series, 2-1)

I guess the old Marty Zweig saying, "the trend is your friend" does not apply here....

This is not on the RISE

Yes, but did she have 5 numbers in play each time? ;)

unlike you, I dont ... care about the grammar.

In other words, you don't care if you make any sense.

Grammar is a tool used to facilitate communication. It's too bad many teachers are unable to communicate how useful it really is.

The classic tools of communication are grammar (effective sentence), rhetoric (effective paragraph) and logic (effective argument).

It appears from your comment that you don't care about being effective at all in any of these three areas.....might one then infer that you are most interested in hearing yourself speak?
