Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

fr joe, as a youngster the men of the cloth that guided us through the 1950s and 60s would frown upon us listening to the devil worshiping rock and roll.
I wonder what they would think of your quoting such music. ;)

Don't stop beleivin, man! ;)

Beat Clarkson! :D

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

congrats on another good win tonight....good luck tomorrow...clarkson gets a little..no very chippy when loosing...should have several PP opportunities..

That's why rivalry games are so much more fun. :D even their old alumni still hate us as much as SLU

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

Many times people question SA on his coaching. This mini winning streak is because of the stellar play of Bryce. Bryce was defintely struggling early on and I credit SA with helping him turn it around. Besides the obvious of Marty and Paddy C, I am really impressed with Mark McGowan. He is a warrior and a scapper. Mark is going to be a good power forward for us, for years to come. I thought the D played well and especially the combo of Patty K and Dolan...I think those guys were plus 2 last night. The second unit PP was awesome and whipped the puck around creating chances.

Plus I think the young guys showed some maturity playing with the lead last night.

Congrats RPI, great win .

Just a few takes here from me. 1- One of the best reffed games in Troy in a long time. 2- Merriam is hot right now, controlling rebounds and not fighting puck or going out of position. 3- we missed u flag dude 08. 4- white out tonight let's see a packed house in white and hopefully the same lineup as tonight. 5- cj lee played his ***** offnlast night.

I'll add #6 - good call by SA to take time out about 3 mins into the 2nd period. Team came out for the second pretty flat and SLU looked like they were going to take control. Time out settled everybody down. Then they had their best offensive period of the season. Nice move.

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

Some in the media (look west) and the league (Stewie) have treated SA unfairly. The Appert haters who want his head are all wet, we're lucky to have him. We should ditch the lousy refs and the subpar league to go to greener pastures and troyboy and I are the best posters on this thread.

Let the brawling begin!!!!
Not to mention what a HOMER Schottzie is !!!!!

I miss you guys, too. Making the trip every other weekend (not to mention day trips for the single games) was starting to take its toll in several different aspects, so I'm not able to hit up as many games as I'd like. Are you guys coming out for Colgate and/or Cornell? If so, I'll check you guys there. :)

Lee and O'Grady have certainly answered Coach's challenge for the older members of the team to step up. Although I know it isn't entirely true, one thing I've noticed is that we seem to win or come close to winning whenever Marty O'Grady puts the puck in the net. Like I said last year, he's our clutch player that doesn't panic and comes up big in the very important situations. I would go as far to say that, if I were picking the players to be on the ice, if it were the last minute of a close game, he's at the very top of my list.

Let's see a 65-minute effort tonight. Win, lose, or tie, we play hard for the ENTIRE game.

Aspy, I agree with everything you said. But when speaking defense, don't leave out Leonard. He may be the best defensive defenseman I have seen in an Engineer uniform. And he is only a freshman. The kid just doesn't make many mistakes.
I was in section 9 last night and will be there again for the freakout, where are your seats? would love to meet up with you.

Just stopping by to reaffirm my faith. I still believe! Let's Go Red!

Thanks for the kind words. Enjoy your posts as well. Remind me the weekend of the freakout and tb and I will meet you at the glass right next to visitor bench. It is always easy to spot tb and I. I look like George Clooney and tb looks like a taller Tom Cruise.

He's a genius. Hence the title...our great coach.

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

Apologies if this was already posted, but I'm not going back through the old thread to find out. RPI 1984-1985 has been posted on FightingSioux23's list of greatest college hockey teams of all time at #8!

http://www.collegehockeyweekly.com/1984-1985-RPI-Engineers.html

last time I saw one of these, the team was ranked third (justified, I think) behind Cornell's unbeaten team, and UMaine's 1-loss Kariya team. I find it hard to believe they've slipped 5 spots since then. We'll see.

Great win last night, LETS GO RED!

He probably introduced negative bonus points to any team the Susies beat. :D

Perhaps they are in a slump-how many games have they lost since 1985?
