He said that he saw JL's father. However, isn't a swollen hand consistent with Weaver's article in the Record http://www.troyrecord.com/articles/...4e9d04337b568985656633.txt?viewmode=fullstory which states "severe hand injury".

I have no idea, I was just passing along the message, which said "swollen finger". A swollen finger could be consistent with a bee sting, a broken bone, or the plague, who knows. :p It's as reliable as any other speculation we all engage in, so I figured I'd throw it out there for those who aren't on the listserv.

EDIT: The email is from the former team president of the Hawkesbury Hawks while JL played for them. So perhaps it is worth lending a little more credence than we otherwise might.

Sounding somewhat better than when first posted. I reserve judgement until we have a bit more information. Would like to know which finger and on which hand. The plague? I must admit that was a bit inventive. I am not even sure one can get a bubo of the finger with any sort of plague.;) (Totally tongue in cheek of course)

Alright. Time for my daily "This isn't related to RPI hockey, but enough different people read this thread and it's related to college hockey in general, so I may as well ask it here" question.

Why does the CCHA not exist according to collegehockeystats.net before the 2004-5 season? For example, Michigan's 04-05 schedule can be found here, but their 03-04 schedule (which should have this URL) doesn't exist. And, on the "All Leagues - Standings" page, the CCHA exists in 04-05, but not 03-04.

Alternatively, I have found the CCHA standings for the 1999-2000 to 2003-4 seasons (go to this site and then click on the individual years, which are links), so does anyone know where I can find a composite schedule of the CCHA's games during those seasons? I haven't found it on the CCHA site yet, it's not on CCHA's wikipedia (not that I expected it to be), and I'm not sure where else to look.

This is the reason why my spreadsheet stopped at the 04-05 season originally. I'm in the process of putting in the 03-04 to 99-00 schedules / results for the non-CCHA teams, but it feels so incomplete and it leaves my heart feeling empty.

I didn't feel it was worthy of a separate thread, I had talked about this spreadsheet here before, and, again, lots of people with lots of historical knowledge read this thread, so I'm hoping that someone can help.

PS, I've emailed info@collegehockeystats.com, but I'm not too confident in getting a positive response, so help would be much appreciated.

Digging back into my memory which could be faulty, I seem to recall that originally not all of the leagues used CHS. So that was probably when the CCHA started to use them.

OK. That's a tentative response to my first question. But, more importantly, where can I find the schedules for these teams during those five seasons?

It may, unfortunately, be a painstaking process of going to the website for each member institution and seeing what's available in their archives. For example, Michigan State has this: http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/m-hockey/archive/msu-m-hockey-alltime.html which has results by season for Michigan State, but no dates for when the games were played (aside from by season).

Edit: This looks slightly more promising, if only because it lists dates for when the games were played: http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/m-hockey/archive/msu-m-hockey-alltimeresult.html

O'Grady has a concussion, according to SA on the WaP podcast. Higgs and Laliberté have broken fingers. He made it sound like Burgdoerfer may be coming back this weekend, but I'm not sure about that one.

Say it isn't so!

I tried to trace the NY Belt a couple years ago using the media guides of all of the teams within NYS. But, the problem is that Colgate and SLU don't publish their media guides and Clarkson's game-by-game results had a similar issue where they don't post the date of the games. Now, for the Belt, it wasn't a big deal because Google News / Timeline is surprisingly accurate and I only had to ask a couple people a couple questions to get a full picture from like 1989 to 1999 (when CollegeHockeyStats took over). I am not so excited about doing a similar search for game-by-game results to put it into my spreadsheet which includes a lot more information. Bah.

Appert also made specific mention that the broken fingers were not the type you play through, rather that if not allowed to heal properly there is a real risk of doing further damage. So I would not expect to see Higgs or Laliberte back right away.

Most disconcerting and maybe indicative of rather long recoveries. Does not sound at all like the type of injury in which you simply tape one finger to the others and put the gloves on. For some reference-it is felt for complete healing most non-displaced finger fractures take approximately 8 weeks. Of course that still varies by the location of the break and which finger is involved. Not many can grip a stick without their thumb or index finger.:eek:

INCH recruit ratings are out Ralph. Class is 11th. Diebold is 3rd for goalies. JL on forwards list.

I am surprised that Diebold was listed. I thought that either Leonard or Neal might be listed.

Four ECAC schools among the top 12 isn't bad at all.

Have to agree pretty much with our placement. Now if we can only keep people healthy this year and get the offense started. Go RED!!!
