Re: RPI 2011-12 Part II: We Like to Post!

York did get a chance to play his first NHL start this past weekend.

I know, something for the alumni thread, but I can't think of anything better to say to get this back on page 1. :D

Take it to the Alumni thread please.

I guess my concern would be with the rest of the young players reading too much into the final scores...perhaps moot?

If this is an actual concern you must have zero faith in the entire coaching staff.

The reason that we should join HE, but it looks like they are going to go with 11 teams and wait. If we were going there in 2013, something should have happened by now.

Appearances can be deceiving.

Looks like 6 RPI games will be broadcasted on Time Warner Channel 3 this season.

Nov. 11 Yale
Nov. 25 at RIT
Jan. 14 at Union
Jan. 28 Clarkson
Feb. 4 Colgate
Feb. 24 at Colgate

Heres the entire TW3 schedule.

With the exception of the at Colgate game, TW chose some great games! Was thinking about heading out to Rochester over Thanksgiving break, but perhaps now I'll save the gas and enjoy it from home.

There is TWC Albany and TWC Syracuse. The RIT and Colgate games are TWC Syracuse and are games paid for by the home teams.

I would think RIT would be TW Rochester (channel 26 out there). Colgate definitely falls under TWCS Syracuse (channel 13 out here). I believe Ithaca also has their own TW Sports Net (I'd have to ask my uncle what channel number it is).

I believe the RIT games are actually produced inhouse, so they're only buying airtime from TW rather than the whole crew as well. RIT has a nice HD production truck.

"Must" and "zero faith" are bit aggressive and inaccurate..."actual" is right on though. My faith in SA and his coaching acumen doesn't have to be zero to voice a concern. I have faith and am optimistic that we will perform well within the league schedule...just not 100% ;).

OK, so you lack faith then. Good to know moving forward.

You are, therefore, still in the mindset that packing it in down 3-1 is better than going for it and giving up an empty netter.

Either way, they aren't primarily shown in Syracuse unless TW is simulcasting the game across the state (which they do from time to time, as per my buddy that works there).

Dearest Cloud, accurate...though I'd say I'm more like 85-90% there...having 100% faith in anything/anyone, in my opinion, warrants a proven track record. Appert's been great thus far, but not enough to warrant 100% faith. As for packing it in down 3-1, I was only questioning the act of pulling the goalie considering our lack of success when doing so thus far this year.

Hopefully practice makes perfect and deploying that strategy actually results in the puck going in the opponents net rather than our own.

"Trust, but verify." --Ronald Reagan

Although I don't see how trust would apply to pulling a goaltender. It's still a risk you have to take, and sometimes even the best teams get scored on in the situation.

In speaking of EA goals, who wants to bet on RPI scoring one against Union to tie the game at 19:59 in the 3rd?;)
