What's with this being on the second page? Aren't we playing this ev- oh right, score thread...

When was the last time we "spoiled the party" as Weaver puts it? No guarantee we do it this time of course, but there's always high hopes...

Can't wait to see the Fire Appert and why are we playing such a tough non-league schedule posters come out of the woodworks. Im not worried at all about the record so far, league play is what matters most and I enjoy playing the big dogs anywhere anytime.

League play is where it's at, but hopefully we aren't too worn out from this aggressive NC schedule. We had a schedule like this in 2007-08, and started off Black Friday with a tie (ironically enough against the same team we're playing for Black Friday this year).

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part II: We Like to Post!

Agreed-league play is key. But we just looked lost agains ND. The strength of this team is the defense and they appeared to be totally out muscled and out played. ND set up between the circles all night and we were caught with both defensemen on the same side in the corners all night. I know we are short handed and hurt-but the guys missing are all forwards. One would have expected a better effort from our defensemen. Bailen and Koudys just had off nights. If we get JL and Higgs and OGrady back it should make a difference up front and perhaps take some of the pressure off the defense as we are better able to keep the puck in the offensive zone.

Claiming a team is worn out from an aggressive non-conference schedule is a cop out. If these guys were playing in the CHL they'd be playing 65+ games in the same length season. If they hope to play pro hockey they are talking 80+ games in the same length of time. Playing a couple of hard games early in the year, when you're playing two games a week with five days rest in between, and nearly a month off at Christmas, does not make an excuse for poor performance later in the season.

If the schedule results in injuries and those affect play, I can understand that. But a tough NC schedule alone is no excuse.

without the "tough" OOC schedule, RPI doesn't make the NCAA's last year. As SA said in the pregame show, he'll play any team any time and that's what he promised the players while being recruited.

Exactly. Tonight we were finally able to put the puck in the net, but unfortunately every thing else we've been doing well for two weeks fell apart. However, our two goals were even strength, which is certainly something. Against MSU two of the four were PPG, with Malchuk's essentially against an empty net. So moving up.

Playing better competition makes you better. More Rogic... Need to think about playing Diebold.

I hope that Diebold gets a game against CC, I like the way he plays, and he should get some playing time.
But I hope your comment wasn't a shot at Merriam. While he let in one soft goal, he played one heck of a game with little support from the guys in front of him.

I agree 100%. He looked great opening night. 3 years ago when York was a frosh, Seth drank Lange kool-aid all year

And being short your top 2 centers, and highly touted frosh scorer ....

I was somewhat surprised that D-Bold didn't play in one of the Ferris games. Would also like to see him in a game against CC. It wasn't until Nov.26th last year that BM saw any action & UConn toasted him.
