Re: RPI 2011-12 Part II: We Like to Post!

Funny, but we have been tossing around the idea of coming up for a weekend and the CC weekend was one of the possible ones. I sort of like the idea of bunking at the Knotty Pine but Jenny finds that abhorent. If we do make plans we will also post them here. We haven't been up in some time and will also be looking for local lodging. We used to stay up at our home in the Adirondacks but the ride is just too far with the increase in traffic.

Actually my first choice was the union game which is midweek, but the discount airline cost msut require a Saturday overnight. My secnd choice was MSU but then I realized it was Yom Kippur. If I wait until January, I'll be too worried about the weather. Sadly 12/17 isn't an option since I wouldn't miss any classes then.

i guess that must be it. The Canadian dollar is worth a bit less than the US, so you couldn't be quoting it in Canadian dollars.

Unfortunately we just will not know for a bit yet-ever since we semi retired, we have devoted a lot of our life to rescue work for animals. We have 2 very sick kitties currently and are working hard to save them but they need almost constant care for now. It is just such a warm rewarding feeling when you know you made a difference in an animal's survival.

Hopefully the kitties who will get sick in two weeks are actually Tigers. ;)

Could someone add the "clarkson still sucks!" tag to this thread. As a non-thread starter, I could only add two tags.

Go to the bottom right of the page and there is an "add/edit Tags" button. After you type the first three letters "cla" it will show up as an option. (Other tags are of course also possible. The thread starter can add up to 5, others 2.)

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part II: We Like to Post!

I have been thinking for a while about going to Troy for the Colorado College games in two weeks. For those who know my past history, it is probably still only about a 1 of 4 chance I will go, so you don't have to make plans to be out of town yet. :D

Does anyone have any recommendations about hotels/motels? The Hilton Garden Inn is booked. The only place that I have ever stayed in Troy is the Holiday Inn/Best Western which I know is a dorm now. (That isn't exactly true, when I visited RPI in the summer of 1963, I stayed in some dump in Albany with my mother.) Of course, WiFi access is crucial. :D

I assume that tickets won't be a problem.

If you prefer not to post here, you can email me through USCHO.

And a note to RC, I do remember that I owe you a beer for the JL bet.
I, too, missed booking at the Garden Inn near the rink and had to setttle for the one near the airport. All amenites the same.

Now that we know Ralph is coming, we should probably get started planning a tailgate.

Also, family weekend is probably a bigger draw to campus in recent years than reunion. Definitely better to get tickets ASAP then.
I'm going to start mixing up some concoctions...I told you we need to tailgate...I have a small portable grill and LOVE to make appetizers. Open invitations should be for posters only (you get in using your posting name...).I will bring some of that Dutch Caramel if it tips the scale for Dr. D and Jenny. Can't wait to meet you Raplh!!!!

Sounds like a rousing weekend on tap. If the tailgate is on Sat then I might try to drop in too if my son's hockey schedule supports it and you don't mind a 10 year old tagging along (can't go to a game without him).

Who was bring funny and added a tag called "clarkson still stucks" instead of "clarkson still sucks!"? :p

SLU is getting shellacked by the maize and blue. I'm still not sure what we'll see out of Ferris.

I don't know, but whatever it is I'm excited to see it! I have a feeling we'll be able to hold our own, and can't wait to see how we do against our biggest test thus far this season.
