Olds lost their final preseason game on Saturday. The boxscore was not posted. They start the regular season next Friday.

The boxscore for the first game that JL played in is now online http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/boxscore.html?gameid=1083535. He was named #1 star. So in three games, he was twice #1 star and once #2 star. There is room for improvement. :D ;)

It's really too bad that he didn't go to the USHL. He may not be able to develop much this year in the CJHL.

Also too bad he did not show up in Troy this year-I am not sure he needs further development unless it is in cherry and white;)

I am in agreement, but since, for what ever reason, he didn't come Troy this year, the USHL would have been better. I can imagine that Gatineau is still after him. :(

I'm with you RB... he does apparently enjoy being close to home. Every kid is different and matures at his own pace... So long as he is eating 5-6 meals per day and doing his homework in the weight room I guess I can live with it. I note that diminutive '10 Harvard recruit Andrew Calof has returned to Nepean this season, so JL isn't alone in staying put.

Maybe this was indeed part of the reason that JL deferred going to RPI:
Laliberte's command of English is much-improved over the last eight months, a positive development for the captain of a team heavy in American-born and English-speaking skaters.

Edit: Also the article mentions that JL will be billeting at Cornwall and not commuting from Rockland as he did last year. That is a good sign if there were any issues at home last season.
